Description
Realistically do not think Dubois gets moved. The Dubois trade would have to happen pre-July 1st because his trade protection kicks in that day. LA needs a goalie, so they may take a chance on Kuemper and also recoup some assets in the same move.

Marner trade is more realistic than Dubois, but only if the Leafs really want to move on from him. He's the most moveable of the core 4, so if their plan is to break that up, this is a potential move for them.

Also, Oshie has to decide to LTIRetire before these things happen realistically.

Please burn this post. We need to start preparing for our future, not trading it away for a twilight run at the end of Ovi's career. Sure we should stay semi-competitive but this is shooting us in the foot getting rid of Ioiro, and good draft capital. (Sudz still could develop well but idk)

I will quit the entire sport of hockey if we do this in the summer lol. Watching, playing, coaching, I'll be done. Nothing againt you, everything against that first line

I agree they should build for the future, but Marner and Dubois are young enough to be here for the next core (CMM Laps Leonard etc.) and also help the caps be competitive now, which we know will always be the goal while Ovi is around. I'd rather them do something like this rather than sit on their hands for another year.

Lines can be shuffled for sure (Probably just swap Strome and PLD) but I think that these pieces could help for now and for the future. Marner won't waive for somewhere he wouldn't extend, and I'd like to believe DC is somewhere he'd consider staying.

Apparently in the minority because i love the moves and hope we do something like this (even though its far smarter to lean into the rebuild this is more fun).

Add young elite talent that will be here for years
