He’d be perfect with Tkachuk and Pinto . Pinto and Marner can cover for Tkachuk defensively , Tkachuk can cover for Marner in terms of toughness and Marner can set up both guys who are scorers

Making fun of Mitch Marner is one of my favourite hobbies so it would be hard if he was all of a sudden a senator and I had to cheer for him.

But actually I don't think it's wise to pay a winger 10+ million bucks.

If you put all that cap into Marner, you sacrifice huge depth. Goaltending would be worse, bottom six would stink, and we wouldn't be able to afford a solid 3rd pair.

And we already have Batherson and Giroux at RW.



I'm not gonna get all that excited about Tkachuk-Pinto-Marner when Tkachuk-Pinto-Batherson has been great and doesn't need to be tinkered with.

Marner’s not waiving his NMC for Ottawa nor is he signing an extension. Keep dreaming.

As a Leafs fan I have no problem sending Marner to Ottawa and I actually think he would waive. Assuming he values staying close to home then Ottawa makes perfect sense.

In terms of what comes back to Toronto I have to think Toronto would want Sanderson. If it's a 1:1 I think Toronto accepts and figures out their D. For Ottawa it isn't a major change to this proposed team. Keep Chycurin and slide him into the 2LD slot behind Chabot.
