Maatta isn't a dump, He's a solid 3rd pairing Defensive defensemen who'll put up 20+ points per season and make his partner even better.

No thanks buddy. Chicago has plenty of LD already. They need top six forwards and another RD.

He wasn't that good last time he was here though. Fans in Chicago couldn't wait to get rid of him. On top of that we have no need for him so if Chicago were to acquire him, they'd value him as a cap dump and require additional assets.

Many times when we say it'll cost to dump someone here, it's because there's really no spot for him so his value to the organization is zero or less. That doesn't mean every team would value him the same. It's somewhat akin to saying "find another team".

That just might be the worst offer for Saros in CapFriendly history.

    Olli isn't a top 4D.

    Far from it.

But he's worth a 4th in my opinion.

About 99% of 4th rounders never make it to the NHL.

I agree Chicago isn't the right team for him.

But he's been quite steady for the most part for the Red Wings.

I'll be shocked if they can't trade him.

Then trade him elsewhere. Chicago views him as a dump that fills no holes on the team.

I could see him possibly heading to Utah, But right now I think Yzerman holds on to him.

If that's all it took I'm sure any team that was/is looking to upgrade at goalie would beat that.

Won't get saros and giving away guys like Fabbri and Maatta isn't going to be as easy as people think.
