I doubt Krug waives for the oldest team in the NHL

And you don't have the assets to get Cole Caufield out of Montreal.

Pittsburgh needs to be looking at a full rebuild here sooner rather than later.

I think the only one of these guys who would be available is Krug, maybe Pelech. Krug hasn't been good in a couple years and Pelech is having a really bad year by his standards. Not sure either would be a positve addition.

Realistically, there is nothing PIT could offer to give that MTL would accept to move Caufield. Its simply not a match in the slightest.

No?

For all practical purposes, correct. His value to the Jackets is so far in excess of the trade market value for an equivalent player that it would be folly to even try.

They're basically there now, They're not the mighty Penguins they once were. They're getting older and you don't have much top talent prospects to replace them.

Curious... If you got Boldy, would you trade him for Caufield or keep him?

I mean, if you want to clear a space, you can toss POJ back. But yeah, free works. The Blues want a different type of Dman, we have too many of a similar type.

Actually, I'm guessing that, other than Detroit and Mayne Boston, Pittsburgh is probably the team he'd be most likely to waive for. Close to home and a chance to take one last shot at glory with Sid & Co.
