Leon is going to get a huge pay bump 12 million or above, Anaheim could do it, plus I think it is one of the few places he waives his mo move for. Leo and Vatrano both sign extensions though

Anaheims out, Dria is too old to be giving up a premium assets that fits the age range for. This is how you ruin a rebuild.

If we want to take a run at him we will do it in free agency.

If I were you I would take this trade and then flip him for the multiple first and blue chip prospects he is worth. this trade is selling way low of dri.

Or, we can just keep Zegras, and the cap space, and go sign a RW which is the last top 6 piece we are missing, and not deal with any of this.

We become the middle man, we assume the risk, why don't.you just move Drai for multiple 1sts and blue chip pieces? Because it's risky if they dpntmpam out, that's why.

umm I think you are more than a RW away from competing. as well as a few years of development. would be a fool not to do this retain on Dri for a year and get a kings ransom. not only could you get the RW you need but probably 3-4 other pieces that will solidify this rebuild and truly start making progress.

I said we are a RW away from solidifying the top 6, not competing, I'm aware that the guys need development time. We have a stockpile of young talent already, we don't need to reset the clock on it by pulling a flip job on Draisaitl. The only reason we would have to make this trade was if Draisaitl was the missing piece for us, he's not, so shop him elsewhere, we'll keep developing our pieces.

Due to the fact that you can’t do sign-and-trade deals anymore, I agree and see no reason ANA trades Zegras for him. That said, if we could move Z and Vatrano for Drai on even a $12.5x7, I’d totally do that

He's going into his age 29 season, he doesn't fit the core age, I wouldn't move Z for him.

You need some veterans to win a cup. Drai at 32 will still be insane. I’d smash that trade

Yes, you do, but we're set up to have a nice long cup window with a large supply of cheap depth to cycle through, Drain at 32 isn't the problem, it's dragging a 13 million 35 year old Drai around that will be.

Zegras’ new deal will reasonably be $8.5M+. It’s a matter of is Drai worth $4M more than Z. It’s a no brainer next year, and id argue for the next 3-4 that’ll remain true. After that it becomes less clear for sure
