1. Don’t trade for Zegras. Waste of assets
2. Keep Evans as our 3c.
3. Keep Dvorak as our 4c
4. Let Beck cook one year in Laval
5. Let Reinbacher cook one year in Laval
6. Give Barron some big minutes with Guhle

But if we add D prospect Daniil Sobolev + one of our 2024 7th round pick and maybe a 2030 7th round pick would you consider ? Maybe other assets with zero value we could add

A 3rd maybe I would do, a 2nd, no chance. Dvorak is decent, but that’s too much imo.

With the retention it’s interesting. Dvorak is a decent Center that will easily replace Henrique if he doesn’t want to resign cheap and he’s 6 years younger so less risk with a year term left. Ideally not giving up a 2nd but finding a Center of his ilk at a 2M cap hit is a great deal after paying a 1st for Henrique!

We can’t say oh it’s a late 1st so it’s nothing for Henrique at the TDL then flip out over a pushed out 2nd in 2026
It makes no sense

I’ve never been a huge fan of Dvorak, so I wouldn’t give more than a 3rd. I think we can either roll with McLeod, sign Henrique, or look elsewhere if this is the asking price.

Let’s not forget that Henrique is also 100 times better than Dvorak too. With that being said, I would have liked for us to keep the first, but I’m not mad we gave it up. Not sure who is “flipping out” about this though….

As we've said many times before, Jordan Harris is a LhD and therefore a nullity, Jake Evans is a third liner and Josh Anderson is, well, Josh Anderson. But this is no worse an ACGM than the ignorant half of your fanbase usually comes up with. We're used to it.

It's truly sad to see a storied franchise, whose followers were once considered the most knowledgeable in hockey, McDonald's-ed down like this.

How many more versions of this Zegras trade are necessary? Not remotely interesting for ANA

Oh good Lord get over yourself. Zegras is getting horrible deployment, this is a theoretical trade site so forgive ppl for using the site as intended
And in theory you aren’t selling Zegras at a high or you daft?

Edmonton has plenty of center depth, and they could sign a better UFA for $2.25M than Dvorak without giving up the 2nd.

Well, obviously we have differing expectations of the primary reason for this website. I view it as an intellectual forum where people present coherent, informed constructions of NHL team rosters, not a place where people get their jollies by imagining impossible events that magically improve their favorite teams, especially when their ACGMs run directly counter to feedback presented dozens and dozens of times before. But I understand your appreciation for and championship of randomized counter-intuitive ideas.

I'm a fan of Kovacevic but I don't see the Wild trading a 3rd for him. For next season, we have...

Middleton - Faber
Brodin - Spurgeon
Chisholm - Bogosian
(Merrill, Hunt)

...and defensive prospects close to debuting within the next 2 years in Lambos, O'Rourke, Peart, Masters, Spacek, Pionk, and Healey.

I'd be comfortable trading just the 5th rounder or doing a player/prospect swap but that's about it. You probably could get more for him tho, so we might not be the appropriate trade partner.
