Sabres would really prefer a RHD. IMO Sabres should keep all their centres. Spend their cap on UFA RHD

They're like 0 for 8 on UFA signings under this mgmt group. They should disconnect the phone lines at keybank center on July 1.

ZERO CHANCE we’d trade Mitts for Hanifin
I don’t think we trade him at all
But if we did, Andersson really is the only guy CGY has that makes sense for us- ABSOLUTELY would have to be a RD,
and i don’t think Weegar would interest us

I really don’t see a realistic Mitts to CGY scenario,
bc i don’t think u guys would move Andersson

If they do sign and trade AND retention, Calgary will be retaining Hanifin for 8+ years….Buffalo essentially gets him at $3.625m x 8 years.

Hanifin to BUF doesn't make sense.
It would make sense if Calgary trades Hanifin to teams like TOR, TBL, BOS, etc.

Why not?? Gee, if they have to cap to sign Hanifan, they can certainly sign Mittlestadt,

Tanev is available. If Calgary was getting Mittlestadt they'd add more.

They have 3 elite level C prospects, good UFAs avoid Buffalo, and UFAs usually get anchor contracts and Buffalo has to pay more to attract people

The Sabres could just wait until July and try their luck, probably wouldn't get him, but if they're trading assets and he walks as a UFA it makes even less sense

Kevin Weekes brought up Andersson, saying he's generating trade talk around the League. I would go after him if that comes to fruition.

They'd probably get a better return for him then especially if they let other teams talk contract with him before moving him. Then again if Conroy likes him enough the plus on a Tanev plus trade might be something pretty good that Buffalo needs/wants.

All that means is other teams are asking about Andersson. It is Conroy's job to listen to any offers but It'd take one heck of a good offer for Calgary to even consider trading Andersson.

Thanks for the info on the 3 elite C prospects. I don't think the Sabres are that unattractive as a destination for UFAs.. They seem to be a good organization going in the right direction (although they had a poor season). Not too many teams have cap and the Sabres do. Playing in the more travel friendly East I think is attractive to some players

Agreed, and I think the Sabres could make a heck of a good offer.

I'm concerned about Tanev's extensive injury history, so I'd hope the conditional pick would include a % of games played as part of it as well.

I'm curious as to whether Montour is as quality as Andersson in your opinion?

It's a shame the Sabres didn't know what they had when he was here.

He's an ufa with Florida needing to pay Reinhardt and Forsling also. Wonder if he'd come back around 7 x 7? Andersson going to cost that or more in two years

Yeah, I don't see that happening. Adams kinda burned that bridge IMO. They had him playing RW for God's sake.
