What would these Kubalik replacements cost

Created by: Claesson4Norris
Team: 2023-24 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 6, 2023
Published: Dec. 6, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Looking at a few guys who I think would be a good fit to that 3rd line. I like Joseph and Greig together, and I want someone who can gel with them. A few guys I'd be interested in adding for the right price. I'm sure not all of these guys are available, but this is more or less my Christmas wish list for the 3rd line.

Hartman has a NMC this year and in the offseason (first year of his new deal), with a 4m AAV.

To pricey for the Sens imo unless he’s in their top6 - and again he has a NMC.

I don’t think Hartman would be available cause he just signed an extension plus he has a full NMC in his deal. &
I can tell you for sure than Jarnkrok isn’t available right now. Appleton might be a hard get because his line is playing well for the Jets and they’re fighting for a playoff spot. So the only realistic option is Foligno and I can’t imagine he’d cost more than a 3rd and a sub tier prospect

Totally forgot he'd signed his extension ahead of time. Though next year it's not Totally impossible to fit, though it would mean saying goodbye to Stinko.

If you want physicality, Blais and Duhiame are good options. So Foligno fits? so its physical your looking for not skill ight.

Ryan Hartman already has an extension in place, and is a big part of Minnesota’s forward group.

Both Appleton and Jarnkrok are key depth pieces from playoff teams, I don’t know why they’d sell them to a non-playoff team.

Foligno might be available when comes the deadline, I think he’ll be sought after though, driving his price up.

Only Foligno in that list should be moved. HE shouldn't be expensive either. 3rd rounder tops.

My main priorities would be a guy who can take care of business defensively while still bringing offensive utility to the 3rd line. Things like speed and physicality are nice, but not my main focus.

I like Duhaime as a 4th liner, not a 3rd liner. And Blais I'm not a huge fan of tbh.

Still got 22 games before he's an option, and frankly I'm not expecting him to be up to speed right away. In my opinion you start him at 4C until he shows he's ready for more. I just don't think it's enough to just wait, considering that 22 game stretch is make or break for the entire season.

I don't think the Jets will want to break up their Niederreiter-Lowry-Appleton line. They are playing very well.

Doubt the Hawks trade Foligno unless he specifically asks to be traded. And the Hawks won't want Kubalik back. They'll want a pick or a prospect.

Dickinson would be good but I’d rather see them target Laughton if they can figure a way to make his cap hit fit

I was going to say this... He's coming back in 20 games and Kubalik will most likely be gone by then, just a bit ahead of the trade deadline

Tarasenko - Stutzle - Batherson
Tkachuk - Norris - Giroux
Greig - Pinto - Joseph
Kelly - Chartier - Kastelic

An offensive dynamo line, two very good 2-way lines and Kastelic with 2 AHLers

Well, the plan (which was Dorion) is to have Kubalik in the meantime, I doubt they'll make a change for 20 games

0.5 more than Kubalik, so would need retention... and based on the crazy demands from Briere and some Flyers fans, I don't know

Dickinson is better anyway, would cost less to acquire and we could maybe sign him for less than 3.0 AAV if he fits with the team
