Remember when people were pretending this guy had massive trade value?
Because LOL. It was always going to be similar to the Luke Schenn trade.
For example:

And I think a 2nd and a prospect should be his base. I find it highly unlikely he gets less than that unless he mails it in for the season. And I think it is absolutely possible he gets a 1st in a bidding war
Its a fair deal and anyone voting otherwise is being silly
The Canucks "win" because they gave up less than was expected to get Zadorov; but I feel that the player fit isn't going to be as good as other guys on the market. Maybe they just didn't want to spend the assets on a better guy.

We are no where near the deadline and Flames didn't retain. The suitors that could actually afford him right now are pretty much non existent. I fully expected him to not be dealt until at least January
What a strange time for Calgary to sell, should've waited until the deadline or at least until one of the multiple interested teams got desperate and offered enough to justify getting a deal done early. This is underwhelming
I was weary of Zadorov mainly due to the price but getting him for a 3rd and a 5th is great work. Vancouver needed a bigger body in front of the net especially with Soucy not returning until January
On the one hand, Nikita Zadorov's stats are not good and he's overpaid. (The Athletic has his market value at just $2 million.) On the other hand, the Canucks gave up very little to get him. Call it a fair deal, but I think both teams lost here.
This is a fair deal though Calgary could get an L for mismanagement
I was just talking this trade with my dad and we were saying Calgary looks dysfunctional right now and a lot of players could want out. Maybe this is a good thing for the Canucks and Zadorov will play much better here than he did in Calgary, because he will want to be here.
Where was Toronto? They could have paid more than that
Ryan Reaves about to suit up on D!

Agreed. They would have gotten a 2nd round pick, you'd think, when TDL prices balloon player value.
