Description

Caufield was always exciting because of his release, his ability to get open, his speed, his shot accuracy, and his decision making and patience when shooting.

Something has changed though. He hardly ever carried the puck. His ability to create offence off his line mates was suspect. But not anymore. Caufield is evolving into a more complete forward this season. His assists are not a flash in the pan. He looks like he will realistically end the season with an equal amount of goals and assists and that is a really exciting development.

Fearless prediction: Caufield will be the first Hab to have a PPG season since Kovalev, and he will do it this year.

He's never looked like a guy who can setup others and he did not hold the puck as long and he is this season. He definitely took a step.

Good thing his passing play has improved, cause it's blatant when you watch the defense played against the PP1 unit, opposing teams have a Caufield play book - they systematically shut the shooting lanes on him. But this opens up the passing lanes, as we saw on Monahan's goal yesterday.

I too was impressed with CC’s play driving last night. We all know he has that shot but how he controlled the play in the offensive zone on most of his shifts last night was something special.

Yeah, Anderson too. Honestly I really like the way he's playing. The whole line actually. They keep drawing penalties. They are controlling shooting attempts 5 on 5. I dunno why it's not going in. Maybe 1 squeaks through and it breaks the ice.

They certainly miss Dach...
