No chance the Rangers trade Laf for less than another lottery pick. To even get that deal started it would be the Habs 2024 1st

That CGY pick is going to be pretty damn high. I doubt they do this but it’s worth considering

That's severely overeating Laff. His value isn't close to a top 10 pick right now

How many seasons have to go by before Lafreniere's value finally drops in your opinion? Legit question.

The way I see it, he has this year to absolutely rip it up with 60+ points before that 1OV value really takes a hit. If he has another mediocre 40 point season, how can you justify any big value with him?

Considering this AGM is for next year and that its safe to say we would have to assume that Laf didn't pop off this year for him to even be available in the above scenario, this value IMO is probably more than fair. A 1st rounder and solid cheap young dman for a 40 pt winger who hasn't shown any glimpse of that 1OV status yet....... I think that's more than fair.

I do this just to bring perspective to things but Laf is, as of the start of this year, one of the worst 1st overall picks in the past like 30 years. Like, there is only Yakupov, Stefan, Phillips and Dipietro who can be 100% said to be worse off at the same age and Laf wasn't even born by the time one of those guys was drafted.

Does he have some time here to turn it around, absolutely. This will be a big year for him IMO. Is he also creeping up on the precipice of being objectively, a bust, yes.

EDIT: Not playing favorites here either. From what I've seen so far, Slafkovsky is trending towards Lafreniere numbers also. But Slaf still has a ton more runway here. Laf not so much.

CBA woked up on the wrong side of the bed today - I guess he is mad that the habs are playing on a sunday night - propably made plans that he can't cancel. Poor guy.

Not sure and as a division rival I hope he stays what he is. But the Rangers are going to hope he progresses.

Over pay from Montreal point of view, he needs a new team to see if he get his grove. The rangers are not doing for him. Not worth a first maybe a second round pick.
