Assuming Krug would Waive for Calgary I would think the blues are adding a pick to that trade, not the flames.

Value wise Faulk trade is ok but doesn’t make sense from Mtl point of view. Acquiring a aging defenseman who will be on the downfall when they start competing isn’t a priority. Especially if they have to gave up assets. (2nd round pick)

Don't feel like paying for Krug would be a good Idea

I think the value is probably fair for Faulk but MTL is the wrong team to be adding a player like him right now.

That’s a horrible trade for the Flames. You’d need to remove the pick and add one of your top prospects to take on Krug and his terrible contract

Wrong team paying in the Calgary trade. Mangiapane is a positive asset. Krug not so much

Only way MTL can take 4 years at 6.5m is if you take Gally back at the same cap/term.
No other way its really worth it to use to take on 31 year old Faulks 4 years at 6.5m

If STL RS 2m x 4 years maybe your OG deal would work for us
But we're not in a position to take on Faulk as good as he is at this point with Savard,Kovacevic, Barron, Lindstrom and 1/4 LD will have the 7th D spot with Reinbacher and Mailloux up sooner or later

Montreal would sign him for free as a UFA, he doesn't fit the timelime
