I don't see it happening. Natural C, aging, huge contract, plays gone to ****. Not an expiring UFA is the biggest hurtle. Also has the classic No CA or Ca 10 team NTC. We'd just be displacing one of our own C's who need the reps. Especially if Henrique is going the other way.

Maybe if we sent Strome and convinced Kuzy to play 2C for a bit while Leo is getting ready, but then we have three playmakers (Leo, Trevor, and Kuzy) and we're still short on people who actually score. Also destroys our ability to be aggressive next year in FA.

Wouldn’t hate a Strome Kuznetsov swap but I agree

I would only do it if Strome were going the other way, and even at that I want to see how Strome does without Eakins before I am ready to give up on him so would definitely have to be a midseason or deadline deal. If Strome starts the year looking like he isnt meshing with the roster or fitting with the lineup, then sure pull the trigger to get the player with shorter term, and play him at center for a year and trade him at 50% retained when Leo comes over. Even if the return sucks I dont think we would have to pay to get that contract off with retention. Dont think its likely, but I wouldnt close the door totally
