Slight overpayment, but Arizona has a **** ton of cap space and they'll flip him for a pick at the TD. Zucker gets more minutes here than he would anywhere else and will cash out next year in FA.

Sounds like a win-win-win for all involved

Interesting signing, we had a plethora of wingers... easily our best TDL asset though, and we can even re-sign if it works out for both parties. Good low risk deal

It definitely is. That's why you see these guys signing 1 year deals with Arizona. Get top minutes, go to a contender and then get overpaid long term next year when the cap goes up.

That's a very good sign for Arizona. Not so good for Zucker in short-term, but if he plays like he did last season, he can get paid next season for a better team. He probably have this in his mind.

Smart agent to pivot quickly before Killorn/Tarasenko/Bertuzzi/Compher take the last musical chair of decent money left.

For almost any other team, this would be too much money. However, like a lot of people have said, they will simply flip him at the trade deadline at 50% retention and pick up a early draft pick. Until the team gets a new home, this is the best they can do.

Good signing for them, Zucker chased his bag. Don't hate him for it. They're gonna suck again but hey, this is deal has mentor/lockeroom/intangibles all over it. He can def help the development of their younger players.

Zucker gets to prove himself in Arizona. He completed his best season on his previous five-year term after concerns with injuries and performance.
