CBJ can't fit another goalie on the roster.

The Jackets are trying to get a top 6 center, not another $5M+ goalie. They don't have the cap space for both and they're not going to pay whatever the ludicrous price would be to dump Elvis.

Karlsson just won the Norris. The first round pick would get you the retention. But then you are just giving them all your cap problems in Brodie and Murray. No way the Sharks take that deal

I disagree here. Look at every other trade that's happened in the NHL this offseason. Large cap hits are almost impossible to move, and Karlsson's is massive and for four more years. Even a bit of retention doesn't make that go away. I don't like the Leafs acquiring Karlsson because of what it does to their cap sheet, but I wouldn't want to give up a first to do it. MAYBE a prospect, and there would have to be money going back. Just the way it is in the NHL right now.

Fair... I think Samsonov will get $3M x 2 or 3 years... he had good numbers but he is not "solid" and a reliable option after one good year in TOR

Furthermore, it may not be the jackets, but I think the Leafs could deal him for a 2nd round pick. a 3rd at worst and sign a similar goalie like Korpisalo for less money and term. Hoping Woll turns into something

Very interesting work here that's a good look at next year's team, 2 things I'm very high on is O'Reilly centering the second line, Keefe better do the right thing there

And I'm back on Domi getting in there, I was bullish on Bertuzzi and I couldn't fit Domi in but I think Boston will get him and I'm sure he likes it there so really hope Domi gets in to lock down the third line maybe with Calle

I got my eye on Evan Rodrigues with Domi could really help the will and culture, maybe Hathaway and acciari on the fourth line but the Leafs better get to work and get serious

I am looking at the market for Hannifin for example. I have no idea obviously, but I would guess the assets for Hannifin would look similar to Karlsson. The cap is the issue. I'd rather have an 80 point Norris trophy game changer, than another solid D...

believe it or not, the leafs need more scoring to layer in for the playoffs because the big 4 need outlet passes, a different look on the PP. Rielly is a good offensive D, but he needs to be a 2.

I like Domi because he is skilled, tough and, this is purely anecdotal, but he'll come alive in the place his dad was a fan favourite.

The place his Dad played the team he grew up around the city he grew up in most, played in the OHL for London as well, he's been a very decent nhler, leaves everything he has on the ice being undersized yeah very great point by you I thought this too he will have his best years in Toronto, his prime is now too I hope they grab him now if ever.

100% why solid bonified 3rd liners maybe Stastny and Domi are the answers and O'Reilly on the second line is a solution to that, ofcourse they need more scoring it's understandable it can't come from 3-4 guys alone even if they are paid that high but that's really 2 lines and a 2 pairs the rest can't just be floaters and O'Reilly can't do it alone if he's on the third line
