I'm not going to comment on the trade because I'm tired of talking about Lindholm, but a more precise way that commenter could've phrased it is "they're stuck with Elvis's contract and hope he'll bounce back with a better defense in front of him and a new goalie coach and another year removed from the tragedy, and Tarasov the ostensible Goalie Of the Future who can't stay healthy is no longer waivers exempt. They're essentially stuck with what they've got, and cap space for Raantta could be better employed elsewhere."
