Can’t see either team doing that. Yotes would want more futures and jackets love laine. Plus wouldn’t retain that much on Elvis for 4 years. I don’t hate it but don’t think either team would consider.

I think it's all based on whether or not CBJ thinks Laine has had bad injury luck or is injury prone. I love him when he's on the ice, I even think he showed a lot more defensive effort this season, I'm just terrified of guys getting hurt based on this past season haha

I'd also be more than open to moving a 2nd/3rd or even protected 1st in '24 or '25 if they wanted to take a player out

I just don’t think it’s smart to pay a bunch to bail on Elvis right now. I think he deserves another shot back there and then next summer if they have to pay to move him then maybe.

Totally agree, just messing around here! Give him this season behind a real NHL defense with a new HC and Goalie Coach and see if he can get back to his rookie form. If not, the contract will have 1 fewer year on it and will be easier to take on by other teams.

unfortunately, this year is make or break for Elvis.
If he has another year like last, with a much improved D in front of him, his value would be so far in the negative, it would cost too much to move him, they would probably have to buy him out, which is always a very tough pill for Jarmo to swallow.
