Arvidsson = 2023 New Jersey third and 2024 Pittsburgh second.

I'm curious what you think the Penguins would give up for Devon Toews. As an Avs fan, I'm not sure what I would want from Pittsburgh besides at least a first round draft pick.

1st + Pickering + 2nd + B/C prospect is probably best we could do. I've seen him traded for a lot less on here, but I suspect he will be worth a lot more than what I'm seeing

Not a bad idea. I like the idea of getting a major player for top 6 just to re-energize the team. Schmaltz, Arvidsson, Bertuzzi are all names I like. Also like the idea of dealing the 2023 1st for a good prospect that is close to NHL ready, like Rossi. I feel the only thing holding Schmaltz back is that he hasn't had a full healthy season. If he did would be an unreal player

I think that's a good start for a framework, I like Pickering. Who would you consider a B/C prospect the Penguins would be willing to give up?

O'Connor, Poulin, Puustinen, Nylander are all some names. None are looking like they'll be stars, but I think could be solid players. I'm pretty high on Poulin and Puustinen especially. O'Connor is solid too, is fast and does all the right stuff but just struggles with finishing. Nylander I'm not so sure about, not the best skater and doesn't shoot a ton.

Yeah I think Arvidsson a lot. On a good deal and puts up 60+ points. Could probably put more with Sid and Jake too. Same goes for both Bertuzzi and Schmaltz. I could see Schmaltz hit at least 90 in a full 82 game season with Sid and Jake. Even if we moved Jake. I kinda hope we trade this pick for a good young dman. Hanifin makes the most sense out of the options that are available. Pesce as well, however we'd have to find a way to move out Petry if that were the case.

Agree on all of this. What are your thoughts on trading Guentzel overall? It's tough cause he's far from the problem on the team, but is the only player without a NMC that could bring a huge return and really help us shake things up. I'd probably listen to offers but not aggressively try and trade him if I were Dubas

Yeah probably the same. I'd at least listen and see what teams are offering. He could want upwards of 8.5 mil for 7 years. It wouldn't be the worst idea to trade him for futures and flip some of those futures for a younger guy like Keller, Debrincat, someone around that. But that's kind of taking a gamble. You'd almost have to work out a 3 way lol.

Yup, pretty much my thoughts exactly. Flip him for future assets like a 1st and an A prospect. Flip the 1st + maybe Pickering for defensive help and then we gain an A prospect that maybe is close to NHL ready. Seems like the best way to manage our assets when Guentzel easily could get over 8 mil

Another player for Vegas to target 😂. Jokes aside, who could you see being interested in him?

I know it might not be super popular on this site, but I think younger teams ready to take the next step like Buffalo, Ottawa, Seattle would be interested. Or a team like the Islanders who has trouble scoring. Maybe even the Canes. I think a lot of those same teams might be interested in Rust (if he'd waive his NMC).

Agreed. I still dislike trading the guys that have been here this whole ride, but if its what's needed then it needs to be done.

Toews is going to be a lot more expensive than a lot of people on here are posting IF he were to get traded.

I'd think it starts with a 1st and POJ. Probably add a in guy like Poulin - or if the Avs want a 2C for now could always add Granlund with a little retention. And then one other mid value piece - like a mid round pick or a guy like Nylander. Anything more is probably not worth it for the Pens - even though Toews is incredible.

It's a weird spot for the Avs because obviously Toews should command a very high return - but at the same time it may be difficult for them to re-sign him which might lower what they'd take imo.
