4 spot on good draft its not that much difference but lets put a fifth round pick to counter balance between both pick, And while Newhook is young and have potentiel i play as third center and produce like one as Dvorak is able to do in an good team he's agreat third center that can play time on the second line and PK . And kidney may not be the prospect A but he's got good stats, he 210 pts in 126 game in QMJHL. Did produce an 22 pts this playoffs in 13 game. that an good potentiel on a third or second line and he's center.

No team is trading down 4 spots in the 1st round for a 5th. Especially not before the draft. Even at the draft moments before the higher pick is used it usually takes a 3rd to move up even just a few spots. At the 2020 draft Calgary moved down twice and picked up 2 3rds (one for each move down). Dropping 3 spots the first time and 2 spots the second time from 19th in the first place to 24th in the end where they selected Connor Zary.

Newhook and Dvorak are about the same when it comes to production both have had opportunities to be a second line center and were disappointing there. IOW they're both 3rd line centers. However Newhook is 5 years younger, makes a lot less money (nearly 5X less) and though he'll get a raise as an RFA right now he won't get that kind of money will be under team control for a while yet and still has potential to get better. Dvorak is overpaid UFA in 2 years and at 27 years old is about as good as he'll ever be.
