I think it's fair to say.. add this or that late pick, I can understand why. But if we are 90% of the way to a deal... I would do it

I am literally the last person here to overvalue draft picks. I definitely trade the 5th overall for Connor BUT my point was that ppl here will lie to themselves/others to prove a point and it makes discussion impossible

Smith has a lot of questions marks. Compete? Consistency? Defensive awareness? Not sold on Carlsson's upside. Michkov, well, a ton of question marks there. Still he outscored Will Smith as a 16 year old in the U18 . His upside is a lot closer to Connor Bedard than ppl will admit.

Now would I trade a 1% chance at getting Michkov in 3 years as opposed to 100% chance at a 60 point player in Carlsson..?...NO! Otherwise, this org will never win anything if they dont take BIG swings and there in lies the dilemma with the pick. Connor is already at 80-90 point levels. Risk/reward needs to be weighed, always

100%, and 5 > 7. I just think there needs to be more here. You *know* what you're getting in Connor...point per game player in his prime, vs. the uncertainty that comes at 5.

I think Connor can be a 90pts player for 5 years in MTL starting next year. I don't know why we feel the need to wait for players to develop. They can develop while we're winning
