At this point I don’t see the Sabres having room for Garland. Much less giving up a mid second rounder in a deep draft to get him.

I like Garland, but the Sabres aren’t doing that
You’re asking too much for him
Also, i don’t think the Sabres are looking for middle6 forwards

Hes at a reasonable clip for the next 3 seasons after this, but I am not dead set on the price, possibly the canucks send back a mid round pick or one of the 2nds gets lowered.

If the pens were willing to part with all that for Miller, they’d have done it at the deadline

I think that they would do it at the draft where they can move more pieces and have more cap flexibility

Retooling, I think that the ideal would be getting a 1st and a player, a young centre preferably

Eat a bit of cap and they'd be complaining you didnt take enough.
His quality isnt the issue ,his contract is but by like maybe 1.5m
He's just percieved as being slightly to overpaid is all same as MTL has with Anderson
At the right cap hit though people become fans pretty quick

So if i offered up a 1st in 2024 unprotected ,Owen Beck Projected to be a 65+ point guy and top 6 Center and a 3rd round pick in 2023 71st OA
Or a package with a 1st in 2023 FLA 12th OA pick, Dvorak and Kapanen .

Which would you as a VAN fan lean more towards?
Either way you start the season with a Center
The 2nd choice leads to more depth options
The 1st Choice though Gives a top 6 Faceoff Center prospect NHL ready before age 20 and an unprotected 1st round pick with a 3rd round pick

I think either way VAN gets value

I think that we have to do our best to move him as a whole and not eat any money, I think if we take back another contract or 2 that would be different, as we could send them down and have no issues, but I think we need to approach this with caution and not take less than what he is worth

I think that I would presonally go for the 1st option, I would try to see if there was a middle option that got beck and the 12 OA and maybe some bad money back type deal, but i think that there are a lot of factors in that, but I would not be mad if either one of these deals was done

Nah if they were interested in moving MP, they’d have done it. They could have done this trade at the deadline and didn’t want to do it.

Take back how much bad money?
If it get Gally full circle back to Vancouver where the Giants were a big part of his life , sure
but i dont think that was what you meant lol

I think we're good at this point Hoffman has 1 year left , Armia ,Allen and Dvorak have two.
Gally's really the only contract i can say i'd give up both a top 12 pick and Beck for

We're in a weird spot though with Gallagher as he and Armia are injured quite a bit since the SCF run
But its usually not at the same time so congestion on our RW in practice isnt an issue but on Paper thats a lot to pay for bottom 6 forwards.
I'd love to keep Gally but short of that VAN and EDM are the only places i'd want to see him go as he's sacrificed a lot for us and should get the best sendoff possible.
But something tells me that more likely to happen in another 2 seasons when his terms less intimidating or He's just out on LTIR for good as he's missed increasingly more games since the SCF run and it might be just a matter of time before he joins Price and Weber in Kelowna for their retirement.

Like i said , really weird spot

Yea, no canucks arent going near that one,

I think if you guys were interested in boeser we would do dvorak and a 2nd for boeser, that way you get the better player but we get the pick

For miller we would do 12OA, Dvorak, Beck, for Miller, 3rd

I think we're out on Boeser

Miller deal we dont need a cap piece to make it work
I guess i just figured you'd see some value in using him to bridge the gap with Miller gone then flip him at next years TDL as a pending UFA getting more pieces.
But if the goal was to take back a bad contract i'd say Allen or Armia are the other 2 year term deals we regret more especially Allen as his injury rebound time is growing longer and he's left Monty solo so many times that its time to move on. Monty is at that point he needs a true Tandem Partner to show him how to go from a 40 game goalie to 55-60 game goalie

I mean Dvorak we can still pull assets outta but Armia and Allen the return will be small by comparison .
If we give both 12th OA and Beck to get Miller just to flip him for Dubois then we'll end up needing the return from Dvorak to substidize it .
I doubt you guys see much difference between Allen , Armia and Dvorak anyways

it would be nice to have dvorak, just because we could always use a guy who can play centre, but yea youre right
