at this point parayko seems to be more of a cap dump than an actual asset to a team

Since when is Barbashev good? 10-17-27 in 53, a .5 pgg player. 0.5 WAR. He had one good year shooting 11% higher than this year and 6% higher than his career average. He just is not worth that. Realistically as a rental he is getting a 3rd and 5th or so. Not a 2nd and teams #1 prospect.

Also Parayko may have a case for 2nd worst contract amongst defenseman behind Seth Jones

all day I hear Blues fans complain about how bad Parayko is, why would we want to give up our best prospect for him

You need a Mark stone replacement. ROR has been great since his return. His injury isn’t something that lingers. He broke a bone in his foot, he didn’t tear anything. This entire blues team is down in point totals. He’ll get traded and thrive as a 2C wherever he goes.
