chicago definitely takes that, probably an overpay, but not necessarily a bad one. the canucks one is interesting bc the cap for next year will be iffy for them but could potentially make sense. i like it

Agree it’s an overpay off Murphy.

Hawks would accept, but it's an overpay like my other hawks fans have stated. Probably could drop bean off entirely, maybe lower the pick to a 3rd also. Depends how high Davidson is on Chinikov.

Would you do bean and a second. Plus another smaller add than chinakhov?

Unless that first is top 10 protected we shouldn’t be moving that pick. Contract for horvat might be alittle rich. Maybe 7.2-7.4. But not 8.

Horvat would be a good target if he hits UFA

Asking for Jiricek is just greedy. This deal is probably more than fair

Well, we need to clear out roster spots, particularly on D and on the wings. I’d prefer to lower the pick, or maybe have CHI do a slight add.

And yeah, I actually really dig these trades. Murphy has been on my list for a long time, so I’d be real happy to see him here. Make the 1st protected, and maybe get Horvat closer to $7M and I’d be really happy. I don’t think he’s a true 1C, but I do think he can have success playing with Johnny and can figure it out.

Only issue is this would make it difficult to re-sign Gavvy. After a Horvat extension, and accounting for the cap going up slightly, we’d probably have about $3M-$4M in space, and I see Gavvy probably getting about $5M.

Yes, but Big puck moving RD who has a bomb is something that we would HAVE to at least inquire about

Buy out Voracek. Its a $3,250,000 cap hit next year and we are flush in wings with Texier coming back. While I love the concept of Horvat being a fake 1C until one of the kids are ready to take that role the added bonus of having leadership there locked down is what we just need to right the ship and a mutual hockey trade for both teams that are struggling. My only concern is to make sure there is plenty of cap long term for the kids when their ELCs end. Yes the cap is going to raise dramatically soon but I want KJ, Sillinger and one day Jiricek signed to longer term contracts so we keep quit being a farm team for the NHL.
