I don't want to debate whether the trade is precisely fair; I just don't think LA wants to give Byfield up.

LA will not trade Byfield or Clarke under any circumstances. Faber is also a hard no.

Lol. I just want Byfield. Hopefully, Dach is our guy for that role going forward. I changed the trade to not include any of LA's untouchables, though.

I would do the amended deal in a heartbeat.

I figured. I would rather snag an RHD than Kirsanov, but if Clarke and Faber are off the table there isn't much else I'm interested in. I guess there is always Durzi, and Spence, but they don't really fit what I'm looking for. But if Turcotte were to become what he was projected to be and Kirsanov transitions to the NHL well enough, this package could be pretty nice for CHI in hindsight. But looking at it as it stands, I feel it is missing something.

How do Iafallo and Grans fit with Turcotte and the 2022 first and 2023 second?

Grans maybe. Iafallo doesn't really fit our timeline, but he might be a good stop gap for the rebuild and could still be an important piece at the end of it. Also, are you saying to add a 2023 2nd on top of the 2023 1st?

As long as the 2023 1st is top-two protected, I'd also be ok with the amended trade.

Under ANY circumstances? So they wouldn't do Byfield or Clarke for Makar? Point is, it's a business, there are always circumstances so nobody is untouchable smile

This is a business, nobody is untouchable...not even McDavid or Makar. Byfield would be close to it, Clarke maybe but to the point of Byfield.

So you wouldn't take Makar for Byfield? laugh Every GM in the league does that in a heartbeat including Blake

I actually agree. But I know LA fans think they are completely untouchable. And I didn't feel like dealing with all the push back about it. But if Byfield or Clarke aren't involved, it's going to take more pieces to get it done. Using Corey Pronmans pipeline evaluations from last August as a reference, I determined that, outside of Byfield and Clarke, ****emo Turcotte and Kirsanov fit the kind of players Davidsons camp is looking for more than anyone else in LA's pipeline. Also, using Pronmans evaluations, I determined that CHI currently has no one in their own pipeline that really fits the bill of what Davidson's vision is, outside of Reichel and Mitchell.
