Trading Boeser and Miller

Created by: Fanatical
Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 8, 2022
Published: May 29, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1. Nyquist
FA after this season. CBJ needs RHD and future goaltending. Effectively taking on another season for a marginally overpaid dman who had a good season. Nucks have one year of a player on the backend of his career.

2. Boeser Trade
1st round pick (ANA has 2) and a player who had an off year along with a prospect. Pretty standard package for a top 10/15 RW. Canucks draft Kevin Korchinski, OR Jonathan Lekkerimaki

3. Miller Trade
Assuming NJ can sign him to a new contract. Canucks get a prospect and the 2nd overall pick. Draft Logan Cooley.

4. Canucks pick draft Conner Geekie OR Brad Lambert

Signings:
* Bear - Sign to an offer sheet or propose some kind of trade. I think he is an easy target for the Canucks to pick off and someone I can see play well with Hughes.
* Miller - Sign. Can eat minutes and work well with OEL.
* Domi - Played well with Horvat in junior. I can see him play really well for the Nucks given the history.

Comtois

For

I don’t think I’d want Comtois in on that offer

The Ducks absolutely decline, massive overpayment

They don’t even offer that much for Fiala

Rather not trade Boeser at this time. His value isn’t high and he just lost his dad to dementia

Cam Atkinson was out of nowhere traded away during his son's Blue Jackets-themed birthday party.
And Jarmo is one of the "nice GMs"

That’s not the same as going through a parents death at all

i guess so. I would just assume packing up and moving out of nowhere at the only place you've been that you've started your family and just opened a development center for kids wasn't the best feeling either. Laine's dad died during through the year but news of him has been another possible move or when he will extend, multiple members of Texier's family died and while he was on a yet to be known publicly leave of absence, his name was also talked about in trade rumors.
And after the many examples of things such as all the way back with Modano-Babcock, Dany Heatley's reckless murder, to recently with Mailloux or Kane. Some GMs don't care

One of the worse proposal for Miller on this site. Smith and the second overall for Miller? Please no silliness about an extension.
Anaheim spends the Boesner and Poolman cap on a good UFA and keep Comtois and the pick.

The Columbus trade is interesting. Nyquist may be a good fit and if we can reallocate cap then all the better.

Look I know his father's disease n death are sad but (not saying my own), not everyone's father is a good person. Bobby Ryan's in particular. grimace
Some people are actually happy when a parent dies. Not in this case, but it's not always a surefire assumption.
Also I can't help but laugh at your sympathy with a wealthy stranger while also having that picture 😭
