Jones is pretty good, I think this trade actually makes a lot of sense and the ducks would def be taking it

No they won’t. They probably laugh at that offer. Terry was the duck’s best fwd this year. He’s not being moved unless it’s in a major trade.

Also how does this trade make the ducks any better? Jones was average at best this year. He’d be behind Lindholm, Fowler and Fleury and battling Mahura, Guhle etc for 3LD if Fleury plays on the right.

Just because he was the best forward on the ducks doesn’t mean he’s that good. Also what about comtois rakell silferberg? Jones is a 4/5 right now and a top 4 on the ducks I’d guess for a long time when they trade Fowler

Jones may be good but the Ducks don't need a 23 year old on LD. On LD they have Fowler, Lindholm and Fleury who are better than him. Fleury could play RD, but Jones would still only be playing on the 3rd pairing. And the Ducks aren't giving up an important piece to the rebuild for essentially a 3rd line Defenseman, a 6th Round Pick and a Center they don't even need. I think Zegras, Getzlaf, Lundeström and Henrique will be the Centers next season (I'm pretty sure Getzlaf will resign). Grant (who Eakins really likes) and Steel are also Centers who played more than 40 games this season.

And Terry isn't really a Center, he played RW the last two seasons.

Terry is staying and even if he were traded, the Ducks wouldn't except an offer like this.

In that trade, it would cost a 1, We arent taking Mikko without some kind of overpay. Normally, Elvis would be a 2, but in this coming market, teams want to lock down a starter, not get some retread in FA. Elvis will be a starter, possibly elite in the league.

Yea, I wasn't too sure about what Hyman is gonna demand as a free agent, but I definitely see him getting over $5.5 mill/year.

I did not take into account Anaheim's LD depth. But if not for that, if Edm offered a 1-for-1 Jones for Terry, I think Anaheim would take that deal.

This is a great point actually. Would definitely put Anaheim in a tough spot.

Disagree with Troy Terry being their best fwd this year. LD depth definitely makes this trade a non-starter for the ducks though and is something I didn't consider well doing this.

Don't think so (as a Ducks fan). Why should the Ducks give up one of their 3 best forwards this year, if offense is the biggest problem. Terry has been one if not the best in transition this season, he's good defensively and also drives offense. His point production may not be that good yet (which is probably the reason why people seem to think he isn't worth much) but this deal would be horrible.

You don't take a Defender in a 1 for 1 for one of your best Forwards, if you have the worst offense in the entire league. That doesn't make much sense.
