Hear me out on this one.

Steve Mason had the best run of his career under Jeff Reese when he was here. So why not reunite the two. If it works out, Dallas has a cheaper option to acquire at the deadline. The problem is convincing Nichushken to come back from the KHL in 2018, but he won't come back to Dallas as long as Lindy Ruff is there.

You have a goalie to expose to LV in expansion in Lehtonen. If they don't take him, then you buy him out and sign a veteran in the offseason to compete with Stolarz.

Neuvy can be a back-up on a playoff team (like San Jose or Calgary or Columbus) and fetch us a good young player or a pick.

The UFA D-men won't likely be back. so get the youth movement started!!

I added Kruger to take some of the defensive pressure of of Couturier. This way he can get more offensive zone draws and time in the offensive zone and Kruger can take the tough assignments night in and night out.

Kruger is more expensive than my Vermette option a few days ago and you **** on that but here you are doing the same thing but for Kruger...
MDZ will get more than a 3rd.

You're correct. I did say that. Here's why:

1) Kruger is younger than Vermette by a mile
2) Better defensive player and top notch Penalty killer
3) Could be a solution for the long term that would be more apropos to what Hextall wants to do with this team
