Bjugstad is not a cap dump, he would step in as the 2RW

Nah. He’s making over 4 mil and is constantly injured. He hasn’t had a good season in 2 years.

He's been fine when healthy in Pittsburgh. Detroit has no right handers in the top 6, and no one coming up in the pipeline that is right handed. He makes sense as a low risk rental at the cost of a 5th round pick, which has something like a 10% chance of becoming a regular player in the NHL

Why do people on this website think the Wings would give up any assets for crappy aging veteran players? Holland is not the GM anymore.

It would save Eugene 1M a year, with a strong chance of netting a 1st round pick

Bjugstad is 27 and a season removed from playing at a 30+ point pace as a 3C

Oh wow a 30 point pace!? Amazing! If he's so good then why are you unloading him for a 5th rd pick?

Ottawa counters with Johnson and the second for a fifth rounder. No one wants your ****ty cap dumps and give up assets to you. Theres a reason you can't agree with anyone on this thread tears of joy

Justin Abdelkader is only 2 season removed from a 35 point season. Maybe we can get a 5th back for him.

Abdelkader has term on his deal, Bjugstad does not. Do you not see the difference, or do you just pretend not to?

Why would oilers give away their only shut down d that plays on top pair? Koskinen has been fine I’d play over Murray anyway then what loose Murray in expansion?

They can't resign larsson so it's better to trade him for a proven goalie

Sure they can. They just have to wait until the expansion draft is over.

Neither is a shutdown defender.

Better to trade him for assets when RD is a strength going into next season. Look at what Pens did this year with Schultz, in hindsight keeping him was the wrong move because we didn’t know about Marino, whereas EDM already knows Bouchard is ready

Usually pairings try and balance with one shutdown defender, one puck-mover. Isn’t EDM pretty deep on the left of guys to pair with them?

I don't think so, unless you consider Klefbom a shutdown type. If that's the case it seems a little strange that he's almost always paired with Larsson.
