Labanc is definitely someone who the Pens want. I think DeMelo gets maybe 700-800k more.

Sharks would decline that, hurts the team alot, gets rid of the sharks only true top 6 RW and a pick for a rental goalie and middle 6 LW.

LaBanc is a middle 6 RW. There's no way he should be a top line player. Take out the pick though.

Well he is the best SJ has as far as an actual RW, even taking out the pick SJ wouldn't accept, Andersen is meaningless to the team, much better to grab one of the many goalies in the UFA market this year.

Let’s get past the Labanc top 6 middle 6 debate and get to the logical argument... why wouldn’t the sharks just trade Labanc direct to the penguins for Jarry? He is cheaper than Anderson and younger and that makes more sense for the cash strapped sharks. Then I’d offer Sorenson and a 3rd for Johnson.

I think if you take out the pick the value is pretty even or slightly better for the Sharks. With the pick there is no way the Sharks would make the deal cause they shouldn't be moving out picks right now.

The thing with the UFA market is that all those goalies will need an overpay in term. I think the Sharks have enough old players on long term contracts.

Sorenson isn't worth anything. I don't know where the idea that the Leafs want an overpaid 4th liner came from. They would rather just move up a guy from the minors on a cheaper contract.

I think it would be foolish to move a potential star goalie for a middle 6 winger.

that is NOT a good deal for the sharks, most of the UFA goalies are going to be on 1-2yr deals, and at most 4M, with the exception of like Lehner and maybe one more, Andersen had a bad year, makes a lot, and is a UFA who will almost certainly leave after next year. The pick isnt even the biggest issue, because Andersen going to the sharks doesn't help, and the sharks can get better options on the UFA market anyways. so Labanc 1 for 1 with Johnsson is a big no.

If you think the goalies will be getting at most 4M on 1-2 year deals you are very sadly mistaken. Come talk to me again after the UFA goalies start getting signed.

Sorenson is a 10-15 goal 3rd line winger who plays on the penalty kill with some grit to his game so he does have value! But I get what your saying so I say no to that trade and we will call Pittsburg ourselves! Thanks

Well Halak just did 1 yr 3.5 (with the bonus) and he was one of the better mid level goalies.

ya 2.75M (which was team friendly) and at most 3.5M with performance bonuses. Its a teams market this year, tons of Goalies on the market.

Have you lost your mind? It's like the Sorensen for Johnsson thing all over. Or trade Vlasic for picks... Who comes up with these ideas?

Sharks are still a strong team with a good history and 1 down year and the play in a wonderful place weather wise when you all are freezing your balls off we’re going to the game in shorts!

And I was kidding about the Karlsson trade Idea I know no one wants that contract!

Because the Leafs don't have cap space to improve their right defense and we don't want to trade Kerfoot or Johnsson for a 3rd round pick.

Also there's a good chance we cant resign him next year with Hyman also being a UFA and the cap potentially staying stagnant for a few years.
