That Reimer contract is too cheap.

Very nice job managing the cap with this lineup. As far as the $2.5M allotted to Reimer, that could be upped and still fit in the projected $74M cap. I noticed your d pairings also have 2 lefties on the second and 2 righties on the 3rd. That's how Quenneville would play them anyway.

Cap won't be $74 million. It is expected to remain pretty flat, hence why it is listed as $71.4 here...that's how the website automatically sets it. As for the d pairs, those are the sides the site put them on automatically. I think ideally Kempny is a #4 d-man, TVR is a #5 d-man. Makes it pretty easy to slot guys in considering that.

It's hard to gauge whether it is or not. The goalie market will be weak so Reimer's contract demands will definitely come down. He isn't getting the $4 million a year that he wants. I think he could probably get around $2.85 million at most.

Giving up Crawford isn't ideal but this scenario could potentially work. The possibility of a cap overage due to bonuses is scary, though.

Hjalmarsson is a LHD so he should be there, TVR next to him, and Pokka as the third pairing RHD.

      Not bad, man.

Agreed on Reimer. And maybe if not Reimer, Cam Ward might do instead. I watched a good amount of Carolina games this year since I know Jaccob Slavin and Ward looked much better this year than in years past. I think he would work in Chicago. As far as d, Hammer plays the right side, though he and TVR can and do play both.

A number 6 overall for Crawford? Okay.

What do you think Crawford is worth?

Hjammer has played on the right almost exclusively on the Hawks - either he or Q prefers it that way. Even when he was paired with TVR, he played right and TVR played left. TVR also played left with Seabrook, Rozsival, and even Rundblad in 2014, and was only on the right side when with Gustafsson or Keith in small sample sizes. So both Hjammer and TVR pretty much play their offside for whatever reason, especially the former.

The only way I see Hjammer playing on the left is if Pokka somehow ends up as his main partner (because he appears to be exclusively a rightie).
