Solid deal but with all their cap space Montreal is more likely to take on a bad contract than retain patioretty salary... when you get a consistent 30 goal scorer at 4.5 mill you don’t complain about the price tag

There’s no reason for the caps to go out and get Pacioretty. Better off waiting until Burakovsky gets hot again. I also wouldn’t pay anywhere close to that much for Pacioretty in the caps situation.

I’m not quite following what you’re trying to say. Are you hinting they’d take orpik?

Burakovsky won’t get hot again man. So many caps fans say this but pay little attention to him and how soft he is, how many times he shoots into defenders, how many times he misses the net or hits the goalie square in the chest and how many times he makes a bad pass or turns it over. It’s happened far too often. Caps need a hard working top 6 forward who can score goals right now. Our bottom 6 is fine. We need a top 6 winger to play with Ovi and Nick.

Just saying

This is just a dumb comment for multiple reasons......
1) bura was part of the best 3rd line in the nhl last season he’s fresh off an injury and scored 2 goals against Dallas one being a gwg.
2) he’s the second youngest player on the team. He didn’t get the easy development like most these rookies this year. He’s been a rostered cap for about 3 seasons. He’s only 22 chill tf out and let the kid play and get better

Look at Tom Wilson you probably want to trade him he’s easily one of the caps top 4 players. Why not pick on oshie who is playing like hot garbage?

Round out top 6?
Ovi backstrom Wilson
Vrana kuzy oshie

That’s a solid top 6 idk what team you are watching but the caps aren’t suppose to be this good they on paper are a bubble playoff team.

Also patches is lw do you demote vrana who is the future for a guy going threw a terrible goalless streak?

Haven’t taken a good look at Washington’s cap situation but it just seems like you’re asking too much to retain salary on one of the best value players in the league

The 1st rounder with that deal makes them retain
