the caps main focus should be....
not bad although I do feel like we got robbed a little in the trade with AZ. We also could probably do without winnik

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ekpaul87</b></div><div>Karlsson is coming off major ankle surgery and isn't back to 100% yet. Did you watch him take a pretty mediocre Ottawa team to 7 games, double OT against the Pens last year?
Twice as many hits doesn't make a guy a better player.
Niskanen may have topped 47 points 3 times, but that's not in the same universe as a guy who has topped 70 points 4 times, and 80 points once. Karlsson is a generational talent, and you are so attached to Niskanen's +/- on a President's trophy winning team that you want to stick with what you know.</div></div>
One of the better arguments I've seen^

As this might be true, let's remember that Ottawa went to the ECF last year. If the list was made January 1st of this year I would have no doubts. With that being said, I could see them being off his list right now.

Idk why everyone thinks we need Burakovsky. He’s not that great and hasn’t been good this season. We proved we can win without him. Get a solid piece for him

brady_t12 // 2018-19
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady_t12</b></div><div>This is a really good looking team for this year, but how does it pan out over the next couple years? Having to sign Djoos, Burakovsky, Vrana, Walker and Stephenson the next offseason followed by Backstrom and Holtby the next year may be too much for the caps to afford. Maybe a Niskanen trade the year after this one could make it possible if Bowey pans out.
However, definitely an A+ team for that season and it can PROBABLY work out cap-wise for the following seasons.</div></div>
I like it minus the JVR signing and keeping Burakovsky. I’d rather have Kane.

I like this move, although it seems like an overpayment for the caps and I don’t think VGK needs Grubauer. I like where your head is at though!

Pacioretty to Washington
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady_t12</b></div><div>There’s no reason for the caps to go out and get Pacioretty. Better off waiting until Burakovsky gets hot again. I also wouldn’t pay anywhere close to that much for Pacioretty in the caps situation.</div></div>
Burakovsky won’t get hot again man. So many caps fans say this but pay little attention to him and how soft he is, how many times he shoots into defenders, how many times he misses the net or hits the goalie square in the chest and how many times he makes a bad pass or turns it over. It’s happened far too often. Caps need a hard working top 6 forward who can score goals right now. Our bottom 6 is fine. We need a top 6 winger to play with Ovi and Nick.
Just saying

I’m not quite following what you’re trying to say. Are you hinting they’d take orpik?

He’s a left shot so I’m sure he’d do just fine on Ovi and Backstrom’s right side
