There is probably an argument to be made that the CHI trade is reasonable. But, personally, I am very much back and forth on what it should cost to move Lee. At the moment, I don't think this is enough to get CHI to bite.

Toronto media is saying he wants a long term contract at 12M

I don't think Lee will take a 1st outright to dump. Yes he's $7M, but he's still a Captain, he's still physical, and the reason he keeps coming up with the Hawks is because we could use his veteran leadership. Sure, I understand no team should go out of their way to do favors for another team, but there can be a Middle ground here.

In talking with a few other NYI fans about this. The NYI haven't drafted their own 1st round pick since 2018. That's a long time. There's something to be had here. Not sure what it is yet though.

Drop the 4th to the Isles...ok. A 1st and a 2nd to move Lee isn't a realistic ask. But agree that the pick swap and a '25 2nd probably isn't enough. Maybe the Tampa Bay 1st gets swapped for the Hawks '24 2nd? #34 overall + the 4th.
