Marner is worth substantially more than Saros alone. Preds would have to add in something like this

I think adding a 1st and the better player in the Sissons-Liljegren part is too substantial already.

Marner isn't the player or at the position I'd target if I was going all in for one year, and that's not a move that makes sense for NSH right now. There's no chance of being able to re-sign him either without decimating the roster, if they get Norris too.

Going with a rookie with 3 games experience and Brossoit in that scenario probably has too much potential to go badly as well.

Depends on how they view that contract and his health long term coupled with Pinto's outbreak. If you dont think he can stay healthy, you trade him for positive value while you can. If you think Pinto is going to pass him, you still need to consider it.

This is a player on his 3rd shoulder surgery who has only produced at a 70 point pace 1 time and has a career pace of 55 points per 82 games. He has missed 122 games over the past 3 seasons (49.5%). They can either sit on that contract and hope he rebounds and that Pinto doesnt surpass him or holding onto him doesnt keep Pinto from flourishing so they can have their cake and eat it too or they can try and get some/anything for a broken player before the contract might possibly look even worse because if he does get passed by Pinto in the roster his production will likelh drop further.
