Description
1.) Granlund has been good. I see the bruins or avs making a big push for him, as it's becoming more and more clear the guins just weren't a good fit. Im having trouble with the value of this trade since the avs dont have a second. What would you think of the value, how would you do the trade?

2.) Duclair has been hot and cold, and at times really seems like he is fighting the puck. Right now I would take a third. Similar to Granlund I would be fine keeping Duclair as he really seems to mesh with some of the younger guys. I feel like the islanders could be a sneaky good fit, but of course they are missing the pick that would make the trade the easiest. How would you manufacture?

3.) Barabonov has been better for the sharks than I think the value we would get for him tdl, not sure I'd want to trade unless it's a slight overpayment.

4.) Ferraro, as they said on SJHN don't trade unless its a clear overpayment. We don't have another defenseman on the sharks who can play that much. Ferraro wants to stay, is a good leader, and will have a positive impact on developing players. I think he can find a new level if he is finally put in an appropriate role.

I think Granlund can definitely get SJS a 1st with how he's been producing this year but it would be a team that sees a need for a playmaker in the 2C spot.
If Colorado decides to put Rantanen and Lehkonen with him on the 2nd, pairing up the Finns, it's not a terrible thing to take a chance on.
SJS could probably get a little more by taking Johansen back from Colorado giving them even more cap space

hes so fun to watch, incredible work by Grier, especially if he can turn him into a first. Then we get 2 firsts and out from under the karlsson salary two years earlier.

If Rantanen's production kicks back up (like it seems to be), he's going to want his top line spot back. And Lehkonen is out for a while. I do like your idea though.
Also keep in mind the slim, but still possible chance of Landeskog returning.

Overall, I honestly don't know my opinion on this trade. Listen to another avs fan

At that price, I think the Isles would be silly not to accept. Realistically, how far would they be moving back from their 2nd to San Jose's 3rd? Mid-50s to mid-60s, so maybe 15 spots at most? Seems like a fair price for 20 or so games for a decent middle-6 guy who is kind of inconsistent.

Totally agree on this point. The reason he's struggled so much is he hasn't had a consistent D-partner. Last year he played 95+ minutes with SEVEN different players. This year (with all the injuries) he's had a revolving door of d-partners as well.

As opposed to his breakout years in '20-21 & '21-22 where he played over 79% and 76% of those respective seasons with burns, having a positive +/- at even strength. Even last year, one of their worst season's in Sharks history, when he was paired with Karlsson they were an even +/- at even strength. I think he's so much more useful deployed as the responsible half of an offensive pairing. Would love to see him and Levshunov paired together
