I couldn't have put this better myself. Nylander's future is at centre and, at the risk of talking in typical Leaf fan hyperbole, has a chance to be a top 10-15 centre in the league.

The idea of acquiring a "top two" D-man is vastly overstated. They should be looking to grab two guys, to take the spots of Polak and Hunwick, who are elite shot suppressors. With the expansion draft coming up those guys will be available. Guys like Josh Manson, Brayden McNabb, Calvin de Hann, may be avialble for a lot less than they would be in other years. Pairing your offensive d-men (Gardiner, Rielly, Zaitsev) with these kinds of guys would achieve your desired result.
