Michkov is by far the better skilled player. He will be a flyer sooner rather than later.
Leonard is great don't get me wrong, but he isn't Michkov

Another Idea for the Rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Smithcd995</b></div><div>Way too much for the sabres to pay. They can win most bidding wars but idk why they'd want to for konecny.</div></div>
Konecny has that competitiveness that the Sabres lack. And he's got top-six skill too.
However, he'd be considered a rental with only one year left on his deal and at 27 yrs. old, he'll probably be looking to cash in on a big-money, long-term deal. I don't think the Sabres will do that for a winger.

Another Idea for the Rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sk540</b></div><div>I agree, and with an extension worked out, this deal would work. You guys are sorely lacking the culture that TK and Laughts would immediately bring and nurture. Need guys like that, and although SL had an underwhelming season, he really did get back on track after the deadline, he can play anywhere in the lineup, and is a very dependable player for his cap hit.</div></div>
I like Laughton in a 3C role, but there are many in Sabreland who scoff at the notion and would prefer to go after Cates. Not sure the Fly-boys would trade Laughton's replacement.

I like all of the trades! I like how you reformed the center for the Flyers. We need those. However, I do not believe Ottawa would be too keen on taking Couturier. I love the guy, but at this point in his career he is kind of a cap dump.

I'll take that Atkinson deal. He would be perfect for the third-line wing as an insurance policy should Kulich have trouble as a rookie.
Always liked his style. He has lots of compete and quickness has no fear or hesitation and I believe he'll be able to build upon last season when he came back from injury.

If a GM is willing to trade a top 15 pick for WiFi then they should be fired. Again, I’m a big fan of his, but I just don’t see a world where that’s the case.

Doubt we’d move Kulich anyways
Farabee may be of interest, but we also have soooo much young forward talent still coming

The 1st would likely need to be this years instead of the '25 1st, Atkinson doesnt really boost the value of the return and Zamula wouldnt really help the Sens either as a LD so I. dont think the nucleus of this deal works. I saw some Konecny for Chychrun swaps on here from Flyers fans which I think would be interesting with Konecny;s Ottawa ties from junior and the sens need for top 6 wingers. Both oending ufas too.
But if a package built around Bonk was tabled I think the Sens would be all ears. The last name on top of the positional need would have them hooked for sure.

Maaaybe ANA considers something like this if they miss out on Lev and take Lindstrom. But even still I feel like they’d just keep Z. If they ended up with Lindstrom I could see them smashing a Foerster + Bonk return. We’d probably have to add a bit more though

They could possibly try to trade up if Catton falls in the draft. Otherwise they are better off selling this offseason to try and get a top pick next year.

Rumor Boys
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sk540</b></div><div>Lmao it isn't based around Atkinson, it's based around the picks, recouping basically what you gave ARI, plus a prospect and a vet half retained. Your locker room clearly couldn't prevent an EPIC collapse and another veteran who even Torts trusts, may not be a bad thing for the top for one year. Or, if you guys suck again, maybe get a decent pick out of it at the TDL.
Imagine thinking this trade was based around a 30 year old veteran other than the two high draft picks. Hah</div></div>
At what point do we stop calling players prospects. He’s a 2018 draft pick in their D+6 season who can still barely get into the lineup. I’d hardly say it’s fair to call him a prospect. Atkinson is okay if there is money retained but I’d hardly say that’s a get for the team if he waives his trade protection.
Have to agree with the others who mentioned Konecny to Ottawa would make considerably more sense as a base, especially with the history he has in Ottawa.
I’d imagine both players would be eager to sign extensions in their new cities if they were swapped.
