Major Moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Canes pass lol</div></div>
I would consider it under a few circumstances...
1. We resign Skjei
2. We aren't able to find an offseason solution for 2C
3. We're able to dump KK

small but big move
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>The big problem is that other fanbases don’t understand that the Canes have the cap flexibility to re-sign Guentzel, Jarvis, and Necas all to long term deals and still ice a competitive roster. Certain players won’t be re-signed due to being cap casualties, but saying that the Canes HAVE to take a crap offer because there will be a tight fit, is just absurd. Letting players walk is all part of running a hockey team. The roster would absolutely be better if they could keep guys like Skjei, Pesce, and Turbo, but that isn’t realistic unless other players get moved.
Canes aren’t taking the Habs low ball offers for a player they have no reason to move. Any team looking to acquire Necas would be buying off a contender, so a lackluster quantitative package of futures won’t cut it.</div></div>
Like most of our key role bottom-sixers are either signed next year or RFAs and the Hurricanes have not had a problem finding quality depth at or near league min. I think the Hurricanes will just have to adjust some personnel but they are gonna be just fine.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsWoahWoah</b></div><div>No way Chatlfield signs for less than $1M AAV.
If you sign Guentzel, Necas, and Jarvis.... half your defense is gone and your bottom 6 is weak.

That's not what I'm saying... I'm saying that our team has a long track record of find great depth to sign to cheap short-term contracts
Most of our important bottom-six roleplayers are signed to deals pass this next year and it's only a cap crunch for one year
Plus our top-prospect comes over in 25-26 and is probably gonna be able to take over a top-4 slot immediately

Necas and Perfetti
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsWoahWoah</b></div><div>How's that?
Don't see a way where Carolina can pay Guentzel $8.5M, Jarvis $7.5M, and keep Necas at the same time. They would have to move other key pieces to make it happen and probably hurts their depth in the long-run. They are vulnerable to an offer sheet this summer.</div></div>
The Hurricanes have always been great at finding depth at the league min or near league min (Chatfield, Noesen,Martin, DeAngelo) ... I don't think that they are gonna be too hurt by a little bit more strain.
<a href="https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/5074970">https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/5074970</a> Is a great example of how the Hurricanes can both keep their great depth and still pay everybody

It's going to be interesting who Carolina let's walk this off season and if they make some deals to clear space</div></div>
My guess is that Pesce and Teuvo are gone and everybody else stays

Couple big trades and UFA signings
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>KK is an overpaid bottom 6 player with 6 years left on his contract. 6 years is not dirt cheap to buy out. Sharky as he said just doesn't know, he hasn't been in Calgary very long and extension talks haven't even started with him yet. It's good that he was honest instead of copping out with the standard BS answer "I love it here and I want to stay" most players give to those questions... Toffoli for example everywhere he goes it's "I love it here, my wife loves it here and we want to stay here" but when he doesn't immediately get offered a big raise with plenty of term as a 32 year old pending UFA he suddenly wants a trade.
Necas is an arbitration eligible RFA who can just sign his QO and be UFA a year or two from now too. He's only 6 months younger than Sharky so age isn't a factor. Production is similar this year with Sharky actually being ahead a little bit with 7 goals and 6 points more in 5 more games played (Necas missed 5 games this year, Sharky played all 82).</div></div>
KK has a buyout that's only $800k per yer... that's not bad

Last year was a anomaly, Necas is a 50-55 point winger who can’t play a 200 feet game. Habs ain’t trading any assets for a guy’s without caracter and completely disappear in the playoffs</div></div>
His 200-foot game is getting better and he's been at 25 goals or more the last couple of seasons and probably gonna be better in a different system, and his playoffs disappearance is a bit of an overstatement sure there is a bit of an dip in production but it isn't that bad

That certainly is part of the problem but I think the bigger problem is that he plays a style of game that is great in the regular season but not in the post season and no gm really values that kind of player at $12m+

For Marner extended
If Toronto trades Marner they’re getting quantity not quality</div></div>
I agree... If Toronto trades Marner it'll be from a position of weakness not strength and they are gonna get a very weak return because of that position and the NMC
