(MIN/PIT) - Zucker for Galchenyuk, Addison, 2020 1st round pick
Penguins get their guy for RIGHT NOW and with manageable term going forward. Addison will be good but not for a few years. Bye Bye Gally and his 4.9 cap. Zucker on a line with Crosby!!! It will be a late first round pick so no big deal. Penguins can trade away players and get back into the first round and early if they want to. Welcome to the Burgh Jason Zucker!

The key words here are "ask" and "deserve." Fans get annoyed when their stars "ask" is way outta line with what they "deserve."

I could see Kap getting $4.5M maximum but realistically he's a $3.5M to $4M offer sheet.

(MTL / TBL) - Drouin for Sergachev
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>krakowitz</b></div><div>The Montreal jury is still out on this one. While anything can still happen, the general consensus is that Montreal lost this deal badly.</div></div>
Well, there is a little glimpse of hope for Montreal, Drouin finished the season pretty well for Montreal, AS A CENTER. He had 13 points in his 14 last games. He progressed
While Sergachev had 23 points in his first 35 games. And had 17 points in his last 44 games of the regular season. He regressed a bit.
The question lies on whether or not the two players will remain consistent. It was great for Tampa, because they got a puck moving defensman who can generate a ton of offense. But he had the easy shifts. And Jonathan Drouin got the harder shifts. Tampa will have won this trade if they can milk a consistent 40 point scorer who can play at least 17 minutes a night out of Sergachev. One good season doesn't guarantee you anything.

(MTL / TBL) - Drouin for Sergachev
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>EthanK24</b></div><div>Because he's on one of the best teams in the league playing sheltered minutes, not playing your not natural position, which happens to be one of the hardest in hockey playing against other team's top-lines every night on a bad team. YUP!
Every single 19 year old rookie defensemen (who plays on a good team) should be expected to get 10 goals + 40 points + Calder Trophy votes.
Because it's just that easy on a good team....meanwhile took Drouin 3 NHL seasons to break 40 points at 22 years old (on the Tampa Bay Lightning....same team brotha).
But we should cut Drouin some slack....no 23 year old with 4 years of NHL experience should be expected to play the position they grew up playing without being a -28.
YUP .... GREAT TRADE !

Calgary Flames signed Elias Lindholm (6 Years / $4,850,000 AAV)
So if he 4.85m for 45 points a year
Nylander is 6-6.5, people calling for 7-8 for Nylander is too much
Maybe the AAV is roughly equal to your point production
90 Pts = 9m
100 Pts = 10M
etc etc

The Yzerplan? Perhaps. GIVE FEEDBACK
I think that you’re offer for Karlsson is realistic and is what it would take to get him. You could remove Point and add Gourde instead and it should work but you never know. The NYR trade is great for both sides. We are getting a very good RHD prospect a good leader with a bad contract and a few more picks. Just one thing I would change in that deal is that the conditional 2019 second round pick to the Rangers should become a first garaunteed.
One thing though, add a little bit (1million should be good) to Karlsson’s contract extension by simply bit resigning Stralman. Believe me, he’s great but playing with McDonagh will make Dotchin a better defenseman and he would be able to handle 2nd pairing ice time

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RocketGreaser</b></div><div>$9.5 is like $12.2M in Toronto/MTL/Ottawa... Cap should be adjusted for state/provincial taxes.</div></div>
The cap should be adjusted for state/local taxes? Isn't it up to the state/province/locality what their taxes should be? The Lightning didn't dictate to Toronto/MTL/Ottawa what they should charge their citizens, what services should be offered for free, or that they should vote a particular way. In any case, if they were to do that, it would give an advantage to those teams. They would simply wait for other teams to sign players at a lower salary, then trade for them and gain the advantage of a higher cap.

The blueprint is about what Winnipeg got for Ladd, so for example from St. Louis you're probably looking at Barbashev, 1st, and maybe a 2nd, not a team's top two prospects and two 1sts

?????? If the Leafs made this deal, they would be going all in for 2017/18 and 2018/19. There is no logic how they recoup their draft picks in the spring of 2019 when Karlsson becomes a UFA. And high priced UFAs, have NTC or NMC in their contracts, to think JVR is moveable after has resigned a (too) UFA deal is a wish.
Leafs aren't really in a position to win a Cup this year or next, so to me it seems like a waste of assets for little short benefits. Does Karlsson's three round playoff wins in eight seasons scream difference maker?

(PIT / DET) - Sheahan + 2018 5th for Wilson + 2018 3rd
Want to keep in mind that Sheahan took 80 games to score all his goals last year, and he has no points so far this year. Sheahan is, at best, a mediocre 4th line center. Wilson is similarly useful and Detroit moving up ~50 spots is the best asset moved.
Detroit wins its first trade of the year in my book.
