Updated the Hall trade. Chicago has a glut of picks and will need to replace production from Kane/Toews, plus with their own really high pick they'll have a potential franchise piece to entice Hall to waive for.

Honestly all of the trades are cap dumps that I tried to make realistic. Didn't think of the fact that the ANA pick is 33 overall. Adjust the prices as necessary and even the teams, I'm just saying those are the three I'm shipping out to make cap. Send Hall anywhere that'll give us at least a 2nd for him and I think the B's will have gotten decent value.
Reilly I think is still NHL caliber and now that it's only a year left of term, I do think you can package him with a 4th to clear the space. Maybe Arizona? They're always game to get to the floor.
Abandoning the rotation killed the Bruins in the playoffs. I'm trying to keep that goalie rotation if at all possible, so I really don't want to use Ullmark just to clear cap space. 5m for a potential vezina winner is cheap money.
I'm hoping 1 of Bergeron or Krejci decides to come back for Marchy's sake and they take cheap money. If both retire, we are well and truly screwed. Coyle is not a 1C. If he's between Bertuzzi and Pasta, I think you can make an argument that Zacha can be a poor-man's 1C on a line that doesn't need him to be the driver. But without one of 37/46 we'd need to clear yet more space to bring in a free agent center.

Schenn to Bruins
Not unreasonable, but I just don't think Sweeney can stomach giving up a first again, and I personally have no taste for it either. I think Sweeney is more likely to package a couple prospects and a pick in the rounds 2-4 range to get it done if he can.

I actually think this is pretty darn reasonable. Heinen, Zboril & a 2nd is a pretty decent package, but it keeps all the key parts, and follows with Sweeney not wanting to trade a 1st again. I think it tore him apart not to have a 1st last year in a pretty deep draft, can't see him doing it again unless it's a true blockbuster for someone with term.
My only beef with the lines is that I just can't see how Grzelcyk isn't on the ice after the way he's played, but then I imagine Bruce would go by match up between him and Miller, depending on when they need Miller's added toughness over Grzelcyk's skating.

This is it
I think McQuaid, much as we love him, won't bring any more than a 4th.
The biggest problem I think is that the B's aren't likely to put 3 young players like that on the 3rd line without an established defensive presence. I also believe that even though its probably where he belongs, they'll be reluctant to put a 6m salary on the 4th line. I love who Backes is and what he brings, but man do I hate that contract...
As for the D - Grzelcyk is a left D so he doesn't really fit in Miller's spot. Miller can play his off side, but Grizz has only played left side in the NHL. I have no idea what they'll actually do, but I could envision Moore on the second pairing with Carlo as a shutdown pair and them dropping Krug to the third pair, giving him favorable zone starts and doubling him up on the powerplay to get his minutes in. I'm honestly not sure what they do with Grizz after the Moore acquisition because I think he belongs in the lineup, but there may be no good spot for him.

I think this is fairly reasonable, but Riley Nash is going to need more than 1.25. Best guess is he's going to come closed to 2 at the least, depending on term, maybe more. I see him at decent value at 2.125 x3, but remember Chris Kelly was in a similar position and got overpaid.
I'm hoping Kovalchuk comes in closer to 6 flat, which would allow you to go a little further to keep Nash. Cave isn't getting a one-way contract. He's back in the AHL if you keep him at all. Not sure why he's included here - that's the rest of the cash you need to make this roster happen.
As for the D - Gryz is playing. He's not a #7. I also think you flip Krug and Chara in terms of line mates.
All told though - totally reasonable this plays out, with minor tweaks.

Not bad. I don't totally hate this (though I'm not a fan of giving up that many high-end prospects, Panarin is worth giving up a healthy chunk for).
I think you find that extra cap space by trading Krug. If you think Vaakanainen is making this roster, they didn't sign Grzelcyk to be a 7th D-man at that salary and after the year he had. He and Miller worked really well together. I think you put Chara with McAvory, Vaakanainen on second pair with Carlo (both are mature, sound defensively, and not huge risk takers) and keep Grzelcyk with Miller, and mix and match as necessary depending on the situation with that bottom 4.
I'm curious why you went with Koppanen though. Haven't heard a ton about him, but curious what puts him above some of the other available wingers.
