His 15 team NTC limits your choices unless. I might see him waiving if there's an agreed upon extension.
Also wouldn't be surprised if he's moved with a bigger package to get a 1st line/top 6 center instead of a first.

LA and NJ seem to be the popular/obvious choice, but I wonder if a dark horse team swoops in.
I could see Utah if they want to speed up the rebuild, they have the assets to do it. Or PHI since they are lacking a starter. PITT and Colorado also come to mind.

game 3 lineup
Brown is in Prov already.
it's going to be the same top 9 with the 4th line being
Lauko - Beecher - Maroon
Also wouldn't be surprised with
Wotherspoon - Peeke
Montgomery was cagey when asked about Peeke and said he is getting close. He is really needed right now.

Upgrades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsWoahWoah</b></div><div>Don't really view Karlsson as much of an upgrade from Zacha/Coyle... unless you have a sure-fire upgrade at 1C, I think the Bs are better off building around elite goalie, stout defense, and skilled wingers.</div></div>
I wouldn't do it for Karlsson, I'd do it for PLD though. You need to have a lot of faith in coaching staff, leadership group and the locker room if you're acquiring him but I think the upside may be worth it.
Coyle and Zacha are top 6 centers, not 1st line centers. With all the cap space that the Bruins have, if the opportunity is there to get a 26 y/o 1st line center, I think you do it.

Upgrades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsWoahWoah</b></div><div>Why move Geekie? He is on a very good contract and is an RFA?</div></div>
Getting a top 6 center essentially pushes him down to the 4th line with Poitras coming back. He's worth more as a trade piece than a 4th line center I think.
Having said that, maybe they try to move Coyle after his 60 point season. Coyle is a hard guy to replace though, even if his contract doesn't look great 75% of the time.

I think they revisit the Kings trade, I don't see them trading him to an eastern conference team unless they absolutely have to.
Show Ullmark an extension in the offseason and he might waive. Ullmark + Geekie for PLD + 1st or 2nd.

yeah I don't think you'd get Mercer even in a 1 for 1. I'd throw Geekie in if that was Sweeney's target.
I think it'd look like Holtz and a 24 2nd maybe. That might even be too much. (Holtz = 1st)

This is hysterical. Marchand has been the life-blood of this team since 2011.
I'm not a "fire everybody" guy, but I think Montgomery is coaching for his job on Saturday. Back to back years is not acceptable.

I'm really curious to know what the full deal was between LA and Boston, this wasn't it though. I only see them retaining in a 1 for 1 situation.

Ullmark isn't going to Canada, Eastern or not.
I also don't understand some B's fans still in love with Bertuzzi. He got 40 points playing with Matthews, I'm not giving him that contract.
You also didn't address the need for a top 6 center.

The Bruins don't need a goalie. There are already 2 NHL backup level goalies playing in the AHL in their organization with more good talent in the pipeline.
If the offer isn't a 1st or a package to get a top 6 center, Bruins aren't interested.

Tin foil hat on, I think they're waiting to sign Swayman until after they deal Ullmark. More cap space = more leverage.
But yeah, as others have said, he's not available and if he was it would probably be centered around Mercer. I've heard this draft is pretty weak outside of the top 3-5.

If DET gets in to the playoffs, I could maybe see them looking to upgrade via trade.
You have to get a 1st for Ullmark though, or a A+/Blue-chip prospect.

if the 63 - 13 - 74 line can figure out their game, then yes. But I don't remember the last time they had a good game.
I think it goes 7 games, especially if there is only one line scoring for the B's. Either way, this was always a "transition" year. So whatever happens, happens.

I think he's going to ask 3m-3.5m, no? Going to end up being a .5 ppg player.
I think they throw the bag at Hanifin, probably looking for a top 6 center. If they re-sign DeBrusk, which is very much up in the air, I don't see him fitting.

Could the AHL help Poitras? He got really beat up in the NHL.
Heinen has been great but how long can you keep Merk/Lysell down? I would hope they leave 1 middle six spot up for grabs. At this point they should just trade them if they're not going to play them.

I mean the D-pairs are identical to last night. I can't say I'm a huge fan of having Lohrei on the roster just to sit, call him up in the playoffs if needed.
Merk is top 5 in scoring in the AHL and has played center all year.

Lines for tomorrow based on practice
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>I don’t believe splitting Beecher and Boqvist makes sense if the objective is to keep Boqvist at center.
Personally believe it makes more sense to move Brazeau to the third line, which makes it a big line and preps for when Maroon comes back.
Curious to see if JVR’s issue is based on issues with a pre-existing injury OR if he’s dealing with the ramifications of long COVID. His play has been an issue</div></div>
Braz has had stints on the third line and it hasn't stuck for whatever reason. I don't think Geekie and Frederic are good enough skaters to make up for Braz lack of speed like Boqvist and Beecher.
I have a feeling that JVR is likely done, or done as a regular in the lineup anyway. Less than impactful, his lack of speed is much more noticeable than Brazeaus. I would love to see them give Merk a chance at 3LW but I don't see it happening now.
I think if Monty is worried about faceoff match ups with Boqvist, he could toggle Beecher on that line for D-zone draws.

Yeah I usually don't trust what that guy says, but Quillan makes sense. I think he projects as a Charlie Coyle type, high-end 3C.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>Lysell and Graf would be fighting for the same position. Merk and Poitras would be the same. The Bruins had a slot open for Lysell, but I think they wanted to give him a full year before putting him in. Not sure why they waited on Merkulov
At this point, I don’t see another young player getting a shot.
My guess would be that they shift Brazeau to the third line and insert Maroon on the fourth line when he’s ready if they are concerned about JVR</div></div>
I could see Merk getting a couple games until Maroon is ready. But yeah, I don't think he sticks, which is unfortunate because he's deserved to be given a shot over Lauko this year I think.
