He's also 36, his best days are behind him. He's obviously still incredible but he'll be taking a more secondary role where he goes if he goes.
You aren't getting a ridiculous offer for a 36 year old.</div></div>
I mean I think he could have a secondary role behind mcdcvid sure, mackinnon maybe anybody else no he is still better then every signle player in the league except maybe 3 or max 4 players.

Dubas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockeyfan1986</b></div><div>Pitts accepts, but Dubas gets fired as soon as the paperwork gets clear by league. No way you are trading a franchise player (even at the age of 36).</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>Marner for Crosby is all it would take. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, a 27 year old has a lot more value than a 36 year old. It's a loss for TO likely even at that but I would do it.</div></div>
I would like to meet your dealers pls
there is no realistic scenario where Sid gets traded, let alone for a bad offer like this one.
and no Marner for Sid one for one is a no brainer for Toronto but obviously Pit would decline. sure assists and points in the regular season are fan and all but Sid even at his age is on a different planet.
everyone in the world with a brain would much rather have the next 3 years of Crosby then the next 8 of Marner if they want to win something. and I like the leafs and I think Marner is a great player.
this is not even my opinion: nhl poll from gms and players on who they'd take for a game 7 to save their life, everybody (don't remember the percentage but he won lol) voted for Crosby even over mcdavid and the rest of them.
people forget too easily that Sid is the 3rd best player EVER maybe even second.

i am a pens fans but I lived in Toronto for a couple of years so I don't mind the leafs. still this does not change the fact that if Marner is going to get traded as a rental he will get the exact return Jake did.

Marner yes or no
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MitchJr</b></div><div>These are definitely scraps 😂. Good prospects🤯, these aren’t even some of your top prospects and you have one of the worst prospect pools in the league. Rakell holds negative value (cap hit) and a late 1st in a weak draft just adds up to a pathetic offer.
Agree to disagree on Marner waiving for Pitt; all players in the league respect Sid (many grew up idolizing him) but team is not competitive (even with him).
Zero chance this happens</div></div>
if you don't know broz it's not my fault lol. he is a good prospect. you can take ponomarev in the deal or even pickering. all good prospects. (koivunen and yager are obviously off the table)
and yes we definitely disagree if you think that this team here with Marner is not competitive. and obviously on the waiving the nmc as well ahahah
and again I said that this likely does not happen and I'm not even sure this is the right deal to make for pit
but if Marner is going to get traded the return will be a late 1st a good prospect and a roster player nothing more significant than this.

Toronto likely keeps Marner of they can't find a deal for him because they're bound to be in the playoffs again. Dubas got absolutely hosed in the Guentzel deal because he had no choice but to accept it.</div></div>
marner is better than guentzel MAYBE in the regular season... but Jake is a different beast in the playoffs compared to Marner and he is a cup winner ....
no chance at making the playoffs ahahaha we missed by 1 point without him what are you talking about.... he was traded only cuz they couldn't find an agreement on an extension that's it. exact same situation that Marner is in. dubas did not get hosed in the Jake deal at all it was a fair deal, and if Marner is going to be traded as a rental that is exactly what tor is going to get by any team. 1st + good prospect plus roster player.

I said that if I was the leafs GM I wouldn't trade him. I never said pit is the only home for him. this are not scraps lol
again a 1st and a good prospect is what the pens got for guentzel, no reason at all to believe that the leafs will get more from any team.
oh and Marner would definitely move his NMC for pit and to play with Sid

1. every team in the NHL has the assets to acquire Marner. every single NHL team.
2. rakell is not a dump, but either way take him out of the trade no big deal.
3. the main part of the deal is Broz and a 1st which is exactly what guentzel (same level player) was worth. not saying this is the trade or the right one but he isn't going to cost 1 dollar more than Guentzel.
4. 1st + good prospect that's it. can be broz or pickering (not yager lol).
please lets stop the narrative that he is going to go for 3 1st 100 prospects and macdsvid just cuz he plays in Toronto.

We don't need to carry that while rebuilding. It will be better to use that cap space in a rebuilding process later on short term cap dumps to acquire assets.</div></div>

Post elimination realistic offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoVaSpartan</b></div><div>You call Caps fans dumb for stating that a ridiculous proposal is ridiculous yet scoff at the mere mention of Guentzel signing in DC because of some perceived “sh**ty organization”, the notion of Guentzel signing in Washington being far more reasonable than the original trade. So what makes brady_t12 “dumb” here, since it seems there’s nothing we disagree with regarding his original post?
And last I checked; Orpik, Niskanen, Schultz, Sheary, and Hagelin all left Pittsburgh to come to DC within the past 10 years. What makes Guentzel any different? Money talks, its influenced plenty of stars to stay and plenty more to leave.
But seeing as you created your account in June 2018, it’s safe to say the Caps winning a cup did numbers on your mental health, so maybe I’ll lighten up on ya. Seeing Wilson life the cup must’ve been traumatizing.</div></div>
no no no no I did not say caps fans are dumb for stating anything. I said that caps fans are dumb period . they are caps fans that is their problem.
ahahaha you looked up when I made the account lol you don't have anything better to do?
btw I started supporting the pens in 2014 when I went studying in Canada cuz my roommate was a pens fans. luckily won those cups but that is not the point. in Italy we don't even have ice hockey, we are football fans and we don't chose teams because they win or not. never done that never will.
