Leafs will pass on that. Least I think Robertson will be traded for is a mid 2nd round pick. But early 2nd maybe. I would personally prefer keeping him.

I would do this as a Leafs fan - High end prospect, 1st + 2nd + 3rd + 11m cap space.

Auston Matthews Trade

If Matthews were to be traded, your package is more than enough.
But I think it would be a bad move for both teams.

Why wouldn't they? He is all heart, competes like the best of them and can score. He is still only 22. He isn't a perfect player by any means, but every team would or should be interested in a guy like Robertson.
Leafs shouldn't trade him though.

What would you have traded prime Ovechkin for? You would probably say "I wouldn't". You will get the same answer from the Leafs.
Buddy won the Rocket and is nominated for the Selke at the same time. Has that ever happened before?

Marner to Utah

In a couple of years they could be really competitive, though.</div></div>
Absolutely. time will tell what Marner and/or Tavares decide.

If you think McCann has more value than Marner, I don't know what to tell you.
Clearly Larsson is worth more than Lily though.
Maybe remove the 2nd? or turn McCann into Bjorkstrand.

Maybe Jenner and the 1st but Marner would need to come with an 8 year extension. I would still turn that down if I were Columbus though.

An agreement can be made before the trade is made that they will have an extension in place on July 1st. Doesn't happen often but it is possible.

Ledge doesn't believe in trades that come with an extension.
I also had a Seattle fan say he was okay with the trade in those same comments. I do listen, and in that specific scenario, I had a mixed review.
So I wanted to see what it looked like from the Seattle side.

Marner
It's on the weaker side of returns, since POJ won't have much value. BUT Marner has a full no move clause, so he would be in control of his fate, which lowers the value.
2025 1st + 2024 2nd + Prospect (I would prefer a different piece than POJ but Pits doesn't have much going on on the prospect front... So Maybe 2026 2nd?) + All that cap space.
I would consider it from the Leafs side. Marner would need to come with an 8 year extension.
I still think Pittsburgh's best play is to trade Crosby and go full rebuild... I know that's blasphemy to most people but it's their best move.

I am a huge fan of Robertson. But I don't see him fetching a 1st. Of course that pick would also need to be protected. I can see him fetching an early 2nd though.
I really hope the Leafs keep him though. He is all heart.

Possibilities
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>Fair enough. Put some more thought in next time, though. This subject has been covered at length in past ACGM's. It is only the last few days since TOR was knocked out by your favorite team BOS, that all the casuals flocked to CapFriendly in mass expecting to get positive value for guys that will not get positive value. The regulars know, though. palhal TMLBRIAN are two guys that come to mind, as far as knowledgable TOR fans that are pretty easy to have civil debate with. Don't ever listen to someone named ripnasty, though.</div></div>
I personally believe a guy like Kampf will have positive value (minor but maybe a 4th-7th). Neutral at worst. I can see a guy like Kampf being a perfect fit for a team like Ottawa. I am very open to being wrong and I am very open to keeping Kampf on the Leafs as well. I do trade him sometimes though.
I agree that Kampf to Chicago doesn't make sense, based on them letting him walk a few years ago.
A lot of people use this site for fun though. Not everything on this site needs to be well thought out. No need to be so hard on him :P

Fair enough. Either way the value for Lily is close enough. The Van or LA 2nd could be a possibility also.
And yes I think this Tavares trade makes sense for both teams.

Leafs would easily resign Domi and Bert to those contracts. I would give them more.
I would want a 3rd for Jarnkrok. I am very happy keeping him though, since he is super versatile. 4th may be reasonable though. I would consider it.

Kampf is slightly overpaid in that trade. Ik Lilijegren is in it too but i think it should be a 3rd or maybe 2 4th's
Edmundson is going to get at least 3.5M this offseason if not 4M
Bertuzzi says no to that contract. He gets less money than last season and does not get the desired term that he is looking for</div></div>
His 11m contract would make him very hard to move. If anything the Leafs would need to pay to get rid of him. But i see this scenario with Chicago making perfect sense for both sides.
Fair enough on the Ottawa trade.
I doubt Edmundson gets that much but time will tell.
I think Bert is going to have to settle for less money than last year. His performance this year doesn't justify it. Best case for him is that he gets another 5.5m contract. I personally would love to have him back.
Time will tell though. I am not the best with UFA contracts.

I am high on Kampf. He has been very good on Toronto. Ottawa needs a RD also. But I know they mostly need a super defensive dman. So maybe Lily isn't the best fit.
