So in effect, the supposedly upgrade with Hertl over Kerfoot cost the Leafs an NHL Dman and a first....not worth for the Leafs./
More silly extension talk, they ain't happening and besides Dermot is still is under club control for I believe three years.</div></div>
Its a cap dump. If we are to bring back Freddy, Hyman and Rielly(in the future) Kerfoot needs to go. Plus, Rowney is just a placeholder. The Leafs have tons of prospects who could be ready to take a spot in the lineup when the time comes.

I think Dermott and Mikheyev will get a bit more money but this looks pretty solid otherwise

He was a solid top 4 guys last year. He played on the shutdown pair with Muzz. He won't score too much but he can definitely lock it down.

giving them a really skilled player in Bracco. He would be on an NHL team if he wasn't in the Leafs organization. The 2nd or 3rd pick may not happen but the main part for me is the bracco + 15 ovr for the 9 ovr

the 2nd round pick from Minny maybe be a bit too much so that could be a 3rd.

SpRks gets nothing but the second game of back to backs when the team in front of him looks like trash. A few more regular starts and maybe a few starts on the first of back to back games would be good for sparks too... or any backup for that matter.</div></div>
Well Sparks obviously wasn't good enough last year and Hutchinson did well in his short stint but his previous seasons show he won't be able to play as well as needed.

In Dubas I Trust
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>Hopefully I can stop defending Dubas for a bit now. He has been great for the leafs. But one last time... for old time sakes...
The leafs have two very viable backups in sparks and Hutch. There may be an upgrade made from any point from now till TDL, or maybe one takes the role and runs with it this year. Either way this is such a non problem. Backups are an easy fix.</div></div>
I agree that they are good options. Yet, Babcock has always had an above average backup on his team. If he needs that so that Andersen's playing time can be reduced, maybe he should get that. The Leafs could easily trade Sparks and Petan or Holl or Marincin for a good backup like Jack Campbell or Casey DeSmith.

Kerfoot's comparable is Jhonsson. Same age and same point production. Gets payed in that Kappy and Jhonsson range. He's worth it.

Pretty bad signing. Someone like William Nylander has produced and played better but is only paid 6.9 million dollars. Skinner is not worth Nikita Kucherov money.

You may be right about everything else. But I am quite sure about Marner being okay about taking a bridge deal. Im sure he knows he isn't going anywhere. Kapanen on the other hand may be right about.

I wouldn't consider Jhonsson or Bracco spare parts but ur definitely right about the Hyman situation.

I don't want Nylander for Pesce. But I don't think Jhonsson is a role player anymore. He played on Matthews' for alot of this season. Bracco is a very skilled player that would make the Leafs third line and will most likely be a second liner. He dominated the AHL this year and would be great on powerplays. Thanks.fpr the feedback though.
