Sjs - Mtl good prospects for taking bad contracts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>glarson17</b></div><div>So sharks get depth prospects, likely not in the top 8-10 in their pool and take on 3 bad contracts and trade arguably their 3 best assets outside of Eklund? This is dog water man</div></div>
Sharks also get Hariss and Barron to help their rebuild and Habs can take a run at Sam Rienhart or Marchessault with dumping anderson and Gallagher contracts

They probably can't even afford to keep Joker this year, no more d needing big contracts are going to be added without someone big going out.</div></div>
I think Joker will be traded at the draft as they need RHD and veteran goalie to push either Levi or Luukkonnen to get better to take that next step and make the playoffs

Vegas would be crazy to trade Theodore as he does play the right side and is another difference maker in the playoffs when healthy and McNabb is 33 and in his last year so could bring back some draft capital or prospects

Sabres should go after Rasmus Andersson as they have the draft capital and prospects to pull it off

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoSeider53</b></div><div>:laugh :laugh Yeah like Detroit is giving up a 2nd and 2 3rd round picks for Justin Holl, Who would only cost us $4,500,000 for 4 seasons on a buy out much cheaper than he'd cost for 2 year. Yeah no way Jose.</div></div>
That’s not smart when you have a bunch of guys needing new contracts in the next 4 years and will eat into cap space as Holl’s cap hit will be higher because he is over 30 I believe so better off paying draft picks to clear the player and his cap hit instead of buy out where his buy out will be taking cap space away from resigning DeBrincat or any of their other younger players and will also need a new goalie as Husso is part of why Detroit imploded in the last 1/3 to 1/4 of the season
Not like the Red Wings will miss a 2nd and 3rd with all of their young prospects

I bet if he had half the puck luck he had any year before he would've had closer to to 30 goals while being a very good defensive forward and finally starting to find his stride coming from ACL surgery. I really don't think Van should trade Mikheyev as everyone else thinks he's garbage cause of a bad 40 game stretch this year. We should trade guys when their value is highest not lowest.</div></div>
Except it’s hard to hold on to a player that is a black hole for scoring specially when playing in the top 6 🤷♂️

I doubt Ryan Smith wants a guy to take them into LTIR as I see Utah being a team within $10,000,000 of the cap limit and not needing to be lifted to the cap floor and also trading Weber sends a message to all the Utah players that the way of the Coyotes are over with trading for LTIR players and cap dumps for draft picks and prospects

Habs needs to pay big for Keller
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>1. buddy, punctuation is your friend - that was a tough read.
2. look at it from Utah's perspective. do you think they want to be marketing draft picks, or do you think they want to be marketing their star winger whos a point per game player? it's a business. If Keller was on an established team that needs to keep accumulating young players and draft capital - sure. i just don't think it works for Utah.</div></div>
Ok Mr. journalism Professor you may know more about punctuation but you know **** about building hockey team because you don’t trade that much for a guy who is the “most marketable “ when your team is in the middle of a rebuild and you want to trade for a player that is a difference maker and is clutch when it matters the most but hey you want someone who can sell tickets go ahead because Montreal routinely sells out the cathedral like Bell centre and it’s 20,000+ seats during a rebuild so no need to do that in Montreal LoL
Must be an American to think this will help you win in the NHL LoL

Habs needs to pay big for Keller
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>is it? Keller is the most marketable player for a new franchise. a late first, a 25 first, and a good prospect that hasn't touched NHL ice yet doesn't seem like it would move the needle.</div></div>
Reinbacher isn’t just a “ good prospect” he’s above that and 2 1sts are still 2 1sts no matter how you want to down play their value as both combined would get pick 10-14 which is going to be a good player but he is a 86 point player tops and only done that once so we aren’t talking like Tkachuk level or even JT Miller, he’s good but not great and on a killer cap hit but I wouldn’t trade Reinbacher and 2 1sts when Montreal is still rebuilding
I would trade one of their young defenseman that is on the active roster with Lane Hutson making one of Harris or Ghulie expendable
