How does it happen that you receive pick for resigning Justin Braun? And that trade is bad for SJS, only reason for them to sell with lower value is when Karlsson resigns or they sign another top UFA and need cap space

Good job, agree with most things, you can save more money by trading Dell and try Bibeau/Korenar or sign cheaper no2 (i think of Francouz)

Trading Vlasic away makes sense when Karlsson signs extension, and im not sure about giving away Merkley, but what i expect more is trading Braun to make the cap work (but this would be offseason move). I dont know Montreal so really cant tell anything about value

Faulk and Ferland and Marleau back to SJ
Sharks never accept that, they did not offer him new contract so why would they want him now back? I mean he is SJS legend but GM wants cup and this trade wont help them.

Donskoi trade makes no sense for SJS, they want the cup and this trade won´t help their effort (but value is good, maybe even overpaiment from CAR)

Trades with SJS CLB VGK WIN
That is a no from SJS, just because they wouldn´t have cap space for summer resignigs and I think their GM would be looking for top talent on UFA market if Karlsson won´t resign, also giving away Chekhovich makes no sense at this point

CAR COL SJS
Sharks wont accept, these two are their only good young D-prospects (Merkley is arguably their best prospect) and their offseason moves will depend on signing/not signing Karlsson, if not they will look for a top player - this year it might be Panarin or Tarasenko if Blues fail

That´s why Doug Wilson wanted E. Karlsson, to trade him for Marleau whom he did not offer new contract 2 seasons ago.

I like the way you thought about it, but it all stands and falls with Panarin signing. Too bad Sharks signed Kane on this huge contract, I remember arguing under some Kane signing A-GM team with a fella who claimed that he deserved it and that the market is set this way. For me comparation point was Pastrnak and given the age and ppg production, it tells me that Kane shouldve been signed for less (well he has physical play, but is inconsistent).
I´m not sure with Karlsson resigning here, and if he stays, I don´t expect him to have such an impact as in Ottawa.
Jones is good goalie, but inconsistent too (especially this year), and Dell is good as backup but when Jones was injured last year and dell had like 7 games in a row, his save percentage dropped, so no he is not a starter for 55+ games.
What is your opinion on Donskoi (especially in comparation to Labanc)? He is a guy worth keeping imo, but it would require more cap.

Czech NHLers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SammyT_51</b></div><div>Great team. I think this team is very good defensively. Forwards are defensively sound and all of them can defend rather well so I think that defence is not needed to be better. Also Hronek is projecting to be very good top-4 D. Im from Slovakia so I hope this team isnt fully made during worlds because we are going to be ****ed lol
I would do FWD lines like this:
Palat-Krejci-Pastrnak
Hertl-Necas-Voracek
Kaše-Chytil-Zadina
Vrana-Faksa-Frolik
Sobotka-Zacha-Jaskin
Nosek-Kampf-Simon
Hyka-Hanzal-Radil
that is SOLID NHL depth which Im jealous of. We have TATAAAAAAAAAAAR and thats it..</div></div>
Thanks for the comment, I put Jaskin on top line since he and Davids from Boston showed some chemistry on WC this year, Palat is definitely good choice too, but he is injury-prone which affects his consistency imo. I put faith in Hronek too, and i forgot about other young guns like Zboril or Galvas, but they need time, Hronek might get big in 1-2 years.
I did not involve Necas and Zadina because they are not ready for NHL imo (but Necas will be after this season, like Chytil was after last season).
Well Im from Czech rep :D I heard about few Slovakia prospects (Jaros, Cernak, Ruzicka, Studenic) so it might get little better for you soon.

I would put Evander Kane´s contract right next, but since he´s younger, it´s not that bad. Guess their agents got a big fat cheque

Middle Depth acquisitions with PHI or PIT
I think Plekanec would be a good fit (he was good depth addition for Toronto last year) can take time on PK and score important goals, but since Montreal is in some weird kind of rebuild, they would not be interested in Heed (but prospects/picks).. and Sharks are not sending Chekhovich away.

There would be more teams interested in Braun, Toronto fot example, Doug Wilson is not crazy to give up this kind of player to a division rival.

If Sharks trade Braun (for cap space to resign Karlsson is only reason imo) he won´t end up in Pacific division, or you would have to overpay

Sharks wouldn't do this and don't need this, Doug Wilson is also more interested in offensive assets right now.

Krug
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>Merkley is an interesting prospect, but here are three reasons why I'm not interested:
1. When a d man puts up that many points in junior and is picked in the 20s, there's a reason for it.
2. With Carlo, mcavoy, Miller, and Zboril (who has frequented the right side), I see no need for a right d.
3. Bergeron, krejci, Marchand, tuukka, and Chara aren't exactly young. This isn't the time to trade for the future. By all means, trade Krug, but do it for an established top six forward with term</div></div>
I think sjs is looking more for offensive assets right now (to replace Thornton/Pavelski) - look what they offered to Tavares and their rumoured interest in Panarin.
About Merkley being draft at 20s, I heard that his attitude might be the problem (but look what they did with E. Kane in sjs), for example Zadina, was supposed to be 3rd or 2nd, ended up 6th, because other teams did not want winger. Edmonton drafted Bouchard because he is more NHL ready than Merkley, so I think these are another reasons why Merkley ended up after 20s.

what if...
I would be interesting in seeing those trades for each player from your perspective, i think Panarin for Hertl, Labanc and 1st and (which is fine if this is with Panarin's extension and Labanc's extension) and for Werenski left Tierney, Braun, Merkley and 2nd. I would change Merkley with another prospect and then it can be a deal imo.
Agree with you "for fun" because DW would want only Panarin and im not sure whether hes willing to trade Hertl right after resigning.
