The 5th is for a 3rd party to retain. Teams are retaining 3rd party over 2m for just a 5th round pick.

Top prospect for a rental? Don't think that's true. A first and another pick or two will likely get it done. Most of the teams in on Hanifan don't have a 2024 1st round pick or can't afford him without retention.

Roy. I get that, but I also think Roy knows he can get potentially 6M on the open market and I don't think the Kings should do anything close to that. 5x5 max in my opinion.

I don't know a bout you, but I've been seeing physicality from several players this season and LA has their long-term tough guys coming: Helenius and Ziemmer will bring the eventual physicality we've enjoyed from Englund.

I see our lineup as something like:

Grundstrom-PLD-Laferierre
Kaliyev-Lizzote-Turcotte

Anderson-Doughty
Gavrikov-Clarke
Spence-Roy

Although if we can't reup Roy, Martinez-Spence could be impressive.

As far as why I'm not feeling Saros, he's 28 and in his best play window now, but for goalies they can fall out of that quick. I think let's just offer no more than 2-3 year contracts until Portillo and other prospects can be made ready.</div></div>
