Major League Hockey new league
It will be a crazy league, a combination of guys on the edge of retirement, college and junior guys, overseas pros, guys on the NHL bubble who don't like the grind of the AHL.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brolekb2b</b></div><div>Can't lie this is exactly how I feel after the TDL. We didn't go ballistic like other years and were somewhat cautious spending, though losing Thompson absolutely sucks. Have a feeling JBB might pull a draft day move and manage to get an early round pick. Once again we've got another logjam of RD, do you think anyone is getting shipped out this off-season? Perbix 1 Year and 1.125? Raddysh?</div></div>
Same. The Duclair trade would sit fine with me if it wasn't for losing Thompson. Even if we are log jammed on the right, we could have moved him for a different return. Prospect swap, draft pick, or more than a rental. Not to say Duclair couldn't be resigned but that's not the issue at hand here. I'm unsure if we move someone. Personally, I would. For me, Perbix is the guy to go. While he is only in his second season, I'm completely turned off by his apathetic nature. He needs a wake up call in regards to his effort, focus, and engagement.

(ARI/TBL) - Dumba, 2025 7th (ARI) for 2027 5th (TBL)
While my feelings on the Duclair trade are still mixed, this trade has me quite satisfied.
I haven't watched Dumba much the last 2 years, it appears as if he's taken a step back offensively.
However this is a great trade for Tampa. Julien paying next to nothing to acquire a guy who is an instant upgrade to our damaged top 4. A right handed, 2 way, veteran defensemen who can move the puck and hold his own. This trade finally addresses our biggest hole, the blueline. Even if he's only a rental, Dumba makes us more competitive and takes some serious strain off the younger defensemen we currently have in our lineup. Raddysh, Perbix, Crozier, Lilliberg. For that reason alone this trade is a win.

(SJS/TBL) - Duclair, 2025 7th (SJS) for Thompson, 2024 3rd (TBL)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LordStanlersCup</b></div><div>I very much question the talent evaluation for this team, just because he didnt make the lineup doesnt mean he isnt a better player. They were playing 25/26 year old rookies whos ceiling are 4th liners/ 7th d man at best in chaffee, merela, koepke, fleury, myers, brown and others but had goncalves, finley, lilleberg, crozier, finley and groshev all who were way better and ready to play NHL games. This trade will age like milk once Thompson beats out calen addison for the PP1 spot and puts up 40 in his rookie season im calling it</div></div>
Carolina just got the best player at the deadline without giving up any of their top 5 prospects. But JBB gave up our best defensemen for a guy that refuses to play defense. It seems like every trade that has gone down so far has favored the team getting the player except for this one. Such a waste of assets

Yeah Duclair, the Sheary 2.0 who’s going to walk in free agency. Gave away the best d prospect just to make feel the NHL boys like they had support from the front office and that they could compete for the cup. Only have a 5th rounder for this summer. Then we complain that the prospect pool is ass. Well no **** you just gave away a whole draft class for Jeannot and now you gave the only decent pick and prospect you had. Florida is just going to eat y’all in the 1st round. JBB still hasn’t adressed the defence

The value for duclair should have been a 3rd MAX and he just threw Jack Thompson in as a throw in, actually disgusting</div></div>
Mantha and Wennberg are both better players and the teams that got them gave up less. JBB loses every trade he makes except Hagel. I was very excited to see an offensive minded RHD and now he’s just gone. And the timing of doing this in the middle of a game that is proving this team isn’t a contender is just the cherry on top.

That return is utter garbage Duclair has sucked all year Rutta is no better than Perbix and a lot older. The picks clearly favor SJ .
If you trade him at least get a value return not a pile of dogs***

The Tanner Jeannot Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LordStanlersCup</b></div><div>I really hope we dont get chychrun but as for the jeannot trade I think it could go down as the worst trade of the cap era at the moment of the trade. Some trades have aged worse like the Huberdeau- Tkachuk deal or the Dubois trade but those trades were seen as closer when the trade was made. The second the Jeannot trade was announced everyone knew it was terrible. Some trades have aged really well for JBB but overall I can't think of a single trade that he didn't overpay at the time of the trade</div></div>
Spot on. At some point we have to start asking if he is the answer at GM moving forward. I don’t think we are there yet but another year or so of this might be it for him.

And TB, tell me you're not trying to win without telling me you're not trying to win. Why the hell would you help out another team with their cap when you are going into the playoffs. That makes no sense.
Especially for that return!</div></div>
Probably the smartest decision. They're got 8.5 in cap space with Sergachev out for the year. They have no picks or prospects, but they've got a good late 20s core that will probably rebound next year. Sergachev back, full health vasy back. Retool in the off and go again next year.

Focus on rhd. Lilleberg will be a fine 3rd pairing dman. We need a top 4 rhd
