A 60 pt winger who we give 3 prospects and might walk away as UFA next year.... nah

I'd understand if it was to dump his contract, but then you trade him (+ great assets) for a less great Dmen with almost the same salarie and age! It's hard not to shout honestly. Your trades are always garbage anyway... It seems to me like you're not even a MTL fan

That Montreal-Toronto trade doesn't make any sense for Toronto and Montreal
1- Price has a NMC in his contrat. I doubt he'll waive it to go to Toronto. If he wanted to go to a contender he could've pulled a "Tavares" move.
2- Toronto doesn't have the Cap hit to take the contract of Price and Weber. (They have Matthews and Marner that will eat a large portion of the Cap)
3- Sandin is one of the untouchable of Toronto (along with Liljeggren) because they need help on the blueline and both players will be able to do so in the future
4- I know Montreal has a history of trading their Captain but they won't trade Weber that soon because they just made him captain

Benn has played his entire career up until last season on RD and much of this season there.
he was only activated on left side when Weber was out and in Weber's return has been picked over for Mete and Kulak
Benn's offense started flowing again once we put him back on Right side to as it allows him to utilize the one thing he excels at , Back hand plays .

We must do this
No. MTL need to upgrade at center and rework their left side on the back end. They have an abundance of wingers (Pacioretty, Galchenyuk, Gallahger, Lehkonen, Shaw, Hudon, Byron). How about trading a couple wingers to try and fix the issue first, instead of blowing up the whole thing.

2017-2018 MTL Canadiens standings predictions (using only stats from Price + backups)
Here is my prediction of where MTL finishes in the standings, using only Stats from Price and his backup (Lindgren, Montoya, etc...)
I'm only using Price's stats from now going back to the 2013-2014 season (after the lockout shortened season) as I think this better represents how Price is playing now.
So since 2013-2014, Price has played 199games. He won 125 of those games, which gives him roughly a win percentage of 63%.
Price also averages 62 games a season since 2013. (Price's injured 2015-16 season was removed from this average since he only played 12games)
So putting his win percentage (63%) to the avg games he plays (62games). Price, ON AN AVERAGE SEASON, should put up 39 wins or 78 Pts.
Again 39wins is just an AVG, and not a definitive number. I consider Price to have had an AVG season this past year (even if he still got nominated for the Vezina, I think everyone can agree that he wasn't going to win it) and he had 37wins. It's also worth noting that during Price's MVP season, he had 44wins.
This isn't even counting losses in overtime which would give an extra 1point per game, and just taking a look at Prices stats since 2013, and he usually avg 5 or 6 OT losses a season. so lets add 5pts to the 78 avg. Now we have 83pts
So if Price puts up 83pts on an "ok" season playing 62games, there are still 20games left for the backups.
So if I do the same for Montoya as did for Price, since 2013, Montoya has played 92games and has won 39. a win % of 42...very meh
so let's put a 42% win percentage over 20games...about 8 wins, so 16pts. Montoya's OT losses avg to about 3 a season, so now we are at 19pts.
MTL with both Goalies having just an "ok" season should get the Habs to 102pts. Definitely in the top 3 of their division at least.
I have not even taken into consideration the possibility of Lindgren taking over Montoya as backup. Lindgren will at the very least put similar or better stats than Montoya, which should increase the Pts MTL get at the end of the season.
All this to say, Price on an average season with a below average backup still gets the habs to about 100pts.
Let me know what you guys think! or let me know if there are any mistakes!

Habs fan trying to make a future out of this off-season
That's a huge overpayment for Marchessault, especially when many analysts point to a probable regression in his pts this season. In other words, there's a good chance that the season he had was a partial fluke. So why give away two good secondary scoring role-players, a recent 1st rnd prospect, a 2nd and a 4th?
Just doesn't make sense to me.

Montreal Canadians Custom Roster
I like how you focus on all the small details most fans don't consider, but Fucale isn't getting traded for future considerations. The team would keep him in the ECHL again if anything, he is still an asset and they won't lose him for nothing. Lindgren should be the guy habs try to trade. With Price locked up and Montoya as current backup, lindgren will never get a chance to live up to his potential. Should start focusing on McNiven to be price's future replacement.
Price
Montoya
McNiven
Fucale
Lindgren on the trade block.. the only value he has to the team is if Price gets hurt he would be better than Montoya.
