Big yes on my side!
Harris, beck and ~22nd pick are all replaceable asset. Necas would look great on a 2nd line

New location - I bet they will try to be more competitive / their D is pretty bad

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Andy_Dick</b></div><div>That Florida trade seems like the baseline. As closer the draft gets and more information gets known about where the Jets pick will be around 22-25OA and the prospects profiles becoming well known.
It's a price each team should be able to live with and follows the Newhook trade model. Florida would be able to sign Reinhart and Montour without having to negotiate the new Lundell deal and use the pick as collateral for an older replacement to Lundell ala Ross Colton.
Then, have their cheap young RHD, Barron, to replace the old vets they brought in over the Summer like OEL, Kulikov.
I have Hutson as the 7th D and PP specialist. The Habs go with 11F and 7D for much of the year.
Dont think you need to bring up Reinbacher so soon. Keep him cooking with Mailloux in Laval.
Keep Xhekaj-Savard.
Get Guhle away from Matheson. Play Harris on the right.</div></div>
This is precisely how I see the trade for Florida.

Yeah - Trade in my mind is Barron vs Holloway & HP vs Lavoie.
I dont think HP has a lot of value and I think lavoie would fit better in the lineup

Kapanen is having an offensive breakout moment in Liiga. He's really on fire with 9 points in 6 playoff games.</div></div>
Fair enough - However I dont think we have a lot of PWF in our system. Holloway could be a good asset in a 3/4th for a couple of years.

D vs F
The habs will need to trade some young D and I dont think you can have an elite prospect for mailloux. Lheureux seems to have a shoot at being a decent bottom 6.
Matheson - Guhle
Hutson - Reinbacher
Struble - Xhekaj
Harris - kovacevic
Enstrom - Barron
Kunyoshkov - Savard
They cant have 9 D in the lineup, and you cant dress 6 23y/o Dman if you want a shoot at making playoff in 2y
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Black61</b></div><div>Theres no way the habs are touching that absolute dumpsterfire with two chara sticks taped together.</div></div>

Let’s take the Leafs as an example shall we? I think we all agree they are a post season joke with this core? Hey they are all good players…even great players but what have they won?
Show me the comps on Anaheim? They have no one who will score like Matthews, no one who can dipsy doodle like Marner and no one who can style like Willy, right?
Ok so maybe the Anaheim core are more like Crosby, Malkin, etc? Hmm nope…no McDavids or Bedards or MacKinnons…
It’s just California Dreamin…</div></div>
Yeah but toronto are soft… (maybe a bit less this y, but have been for the past 7y). McTavish/Gauthier/Carlsson should be beast in the playoff

2024-25 Oilers Idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PurpleHippo</b></div><div>Fair! Everyone has different perspectives of what their team's should do, please don't take my statement below as devaluing your position I am just outlining my thoughts.
I would think MTL (given their situation and current state of rebuilding) would rather the 2 young 20-year-olds as they would fit the window better (2-3 years out...ish...?).
I don't think Anderson helps you now, don't see the value in keeping him, not like you're gunna re-sign him.
Picks in 2024 or 2025 (especially low picks cause no non-playoff team is taking Anderson) aren't going to help for ~4-6 years if at all.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PurpleHippo</b></div><div>I can see a draft pick being included in this due to the retention but realistically you wouldn't get much more for these 2 (if MTL was considering trading them).
Bourgault for Anderson is equal, maybe a 3-4th for retention (again if MTL is looking to make a deal) but without retention Anderson leans more into the cap dump scope.
Lavoie for Evans is equal, Lavoie has better AHL numbers at his age, may develop with more ice time on MTL.</div></div>
Yeah but would rather keep then or go straight for picks
